So I am getting a Jeff White asscher cut for me (YAY!) and I am thinking of putting it into a solitaire bezel setting. Apparently most people don't put asschers into bezels because I can't find any - any suggestions where to look or will I have to go custom?

I haven't seen any either... but don't you basically have to go custom for any bezel, regardless of shape, since it's perfectly fitted to the stone? Rather than a stock prong setting that's just closed around the edges...

Catherine Iskiw does bezel set asscher rings, earrings and pendants. Here's a link to her site, I'll try to post pictures later.

Here's an aqua asscher bezel set.  You can find examples of Catherine Iskiw's work on clay-pot.com. She doesn't have all of her designs on her own website, but I'm sure she's done a solitare bezel necklace.. I know she's done solitare bezel rings without side stones.. Hope this helps.

Oh westjenn, don't you have that sapphire ring? It's so beautiful! Do you know if she will set a stone you already have?

I think an asscher in a bezel with a stationary chain would be STUNNING. I've been dying for one forever now. Alas, as per hubby, no more stones in my immediate future.
If i were you I would definitely go for it.

Catherine Iskiw doesn't sell settings & I think she only sells pre-made pieces. Also: very, very $$$$.

Would be a bit worried about a soft stone in a bezel setting too -- some jewelers won't do it. Feel like someone else has tried a project like this & had trouble. Or maybe it was a ring. Hmmmm.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't thought about that - spinels are not terribly soft, but I'd cry if it got scratched. What do you suggest? A solitaire setting might be best?

You didn't say what the gem is? If it is a soft stone it might get damaged when the press down the bezel edge. If it a diamond there should be no problem. There are several asscher bezel rings on PS. But I am assuming it's a gemstone.

Ack ... I'm no help because I'd want a bezel setting too! In fact my dream pendant would be a bezel Lucida stone or an east-west floating bezeled EC.

I've saved this Daniel K pix forever but I fear it would be too costly to replicate. Sigh.

I believe it will be a spinel. I can almost swear I have seen spinels bezel set before, but I am not 100%. I'll have to keep looking.

Hi MonkeyPie -- I LOVE Jeff White's stones!
Working on the same kind of project --- I'm anxious to find out what you decide.... but I think custom is the way to go, as I haven't seen many asschers in bezels.

Keep us updated on your project! Good luck!
