Hello everyone. I am going to write the "stats" of a GIA cert. diamond and want to know if this stone is cut well?  I really don't have any idea what an ideal cut is for a princess diamond but would like to know where this diamond falls. Thanks!

measurements 7.72 x 7.21 x 4.86 mm
carat weight 2.23
color grade D
Clarity Grade VS1
Proportions:
Depth 67.4%
Table 65%
Girdle:  Thin to Slightly Thick
Culet: None

Finish: Polish:  Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Flourescence:  None

Unlike rounds, there is no way to predict cut quality without some sort of performance indicator or image - preferably an ASET image.

Very simple.  The AGS is the only lab that grades princess performance.  If the princess cut is AGS Ideal it's the "real" ideal.

It looks like it has potential, although it seems to be a bit of a shallow stone for a princess. Ask the vendor for a picture, ASET, and IS images. And if they don't know what you're talking about, run the other way!

Ditto John, an ASET image and detailed photographs are really necessary to be able to judge this diamond, otherwise there is no way of knowing how it could look unfortunately.
