SO started calling me Jujube, like the candy. He explained that it was because I was hard and tough and sweet at the same time. He used to say it with this horrid French accent with the silliest expression, it was pretty hysterical.

Those are really sweet nicknames!

After four years we just call each other "Honey". Sometimes I catch myself referring to him as "my Honey" when I'm talking to other people, which sounds ridiculous, so I stop. But that's how I think of him. My Honey.

Haha. One time my SO and I were on the phone and I was frustrated because I couldn't find something and I kind of growled and he asked me what that was. I said, "I was growling, I'm frustrated!" And he said, "Oh, it sounded like a storm." I replied with something like, "Yeah, I'm a big bad storm" (whyyy I said that, I have no idea! I was mad!)

So, he's taken it on himself to call me Big Bad Storm sometimes when he's picking on me. It drives me crazy!

Mostly though, we just use sweetie and babe.

I always love these topics- all the names are so cute!

FI calls me:
Kitten
Laydee [spelled ridiculously]
Sweetie
Doll
Meremaid [like mermaid, except using the beginning part of my name]
Beauty
...And many combinations that include oddly configured conglomerations of those nicknames.

I call her basically the same things. Except I call her Lover, which she usually doesn't call me.

We are pretty sickening with the nicknames, especially when we aren't around other people. When we are we are on our best behavior, so as to not make them ill.

I usually call FI babe or baby. FI calls me stink. I don't know where it came from and I SWEAR that it has nothing to do with odor (I shower regularly and smell very nice if I do say so myself )
It's weird but somehow the way he says it is endearing and sweet. When he says it in front of other people though, they look at him like he's crazy, and expect me to be insulted or something. It's the oddest name a SO has ever come up with for me, but somehow it works.

He calls me WOMAN all the time and I love it! He will say things like - come here woman and other fairly sexist remarks, but he totally means it in an adorable gruff way and it always makes me giggle.

He does it out in public too, which is hysterical. One day I was walking quite a bit of a distance ahead of him in the parking lot, and he is behind me, in his tradey work clothes looking like a blokey bloke, and I hear him yell out from behind me - WOMAN! Get over here now! And I just turn around and give him this little giggle and wait for him (we are both smiling mind you). Well, we got stares from people all over the carpark and these disapproving looks! I can just hear the feminists climbing up onto their soapboxes now and ranting about how repressed woman are etc etc.

It's out little thing and I love it!

He always always always calls me something nice. He will always answer the phone with hello beautiful or gorgeous or something nice and make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

We have a few nicknames for each other.

We call each other the normal ones like sweetie pie and sweetheart and honey but then here are the weirder ones.

Babylonio (we both have a weather channel fixation LOL and when they showed Babylon LI on the map one day we just thought it was hysterical and it just happened) so we call each other this a lot.  Also bubbala and smellilon (can't even remember how we got that one) and sometimes I slip and call him the sillier nicknames in public

Our favorite nicknames are babylonio and sweetie pie right now.
We don't ever call each other by our real names and it feels weird if we have to like if we are in a store and call out our names to find each other.

Fun thread!

Best wishes,
Missy

This is a weird one.

We used to say all the time "I Love your face!'
and then I'd be like "NO, I love your face"
and then he'd say "NO, I love your face"
and then I'd say "YOUR face!"
and he'd say "YOUR face!"
and then it eventually became just "FACE!"

so now when he walks in the door he'll say "Hey Face!"
and I say the same.

we're weird....

he used to try to call me Baby and Beautiful girl....then i figured out that that is what he used to call his ex! I flipped out and he has since stopped that nonsense. He didn't mean to, but we began dating only about a month after they broke up, so I think it was habit.

Now I get sweet girl, which is funny, b/c I'm not very sweet. I'm nice, but not sweet...does that make sense?

I usually call him honey, which started as a joke and stuck!

When he and I first met, he told me that he doesn't like to be called "baby" or "babe."  He wanted to be called "papi."  I told him that there was no way that you would ever catch me calling anyone "papi."

Anyway, I am used to saying "babe" and that's what I have always called him.  At first he hated it and now he will shout out "BABE, where are you??" in the grocery store.  LOL

Other than that, I'll call him honey.

But he calls me "malle" which is short for "maleficent" the witch on sleeping beauty

ETA: LOL I Just noticed they changed my username.  I forgot I requested the change LOL

I'm babe or baby...

He's babe or baby...

Pretty boring...

Often he calls me "gorda" and I'll call him "negro"...In English (and Spanish) they mean "fat or chubby" and "black or dark" however in Spanish they are also used for the one you love as a term of endearment...its hard to translate, because when you call someone "fat" in English, its not very nice LOL

Sweetie Pie or just Pie for short (both of us)

He also calls me the Poilsh name for Aunt whicj is Coici (pronounced Chuh-chee.)
I guess he does that because my sister refuses to acknowlege we are Polish for some strange reason, so her kids just call me by my first name.

Weird.

This lets me be Polish.

His nicknames for me usually revolve around food items (ie. "dumpling") but lately he's taken to calling me "pork chop." I don't like it.

I call him various nicknames. Lately I've been alternating between "Beast" and "Mr. Handsomepants." However, these are nicknames I also use for our cats.

And of course the standards also: Babe, Honey, Dear, Darling.

big fat AWWWWWWWWWWWWW to everyone!

ours are
babe,
honey,
sweetie

but he calls me jamers (pronouced jay-mers). He's the ONLY guy i have ever let call me that name. weird.

sometimes i call him booger butt when i am fired up.

More so, we play this game called "I WIN!" the rules are anyone named exactly like me (first, middle, last) wins all arguments, bets, etc. The only time I dont win is when i change my name. then boyf can win :) guess i'll be winning till i change my name! :)

Add us to the weird but cute name list!  We have a variety of weird ones... here are some of the more normal ones:

Babe a labe
Labe
Shmabe
Bubala
Bub
Lover face

also... he calls me Winchy, which is the way our friends' daughter says my name (she's a year and a half old) and can't quite pronounce it correctly yet.

Elle, that is so cute and funny!

I call FI "beauty" or "nicey" and then once I called her "beautyface," and now I call her "niceyface" all the time. Then I mix it up and say "awwww.... niceyface! You have a nice face!" And I call her kittenface, although she admittedly thinks that is really weird, especially when I am hyper and get carried away and she says it sounds like I am talking to a pet. She thinks it's funny and cute, though!
