I just ate four of those bite-sized brownies... which defeats the whole point of them being, er, bite-sized. But those suckers are addictive!   That, and a grilled cheese, comprised my ever-so-healthy and well balanced dinner! Talk about comfort food!

In all seriousness though, I'm going to detox this weekend when I go back to my city to visit friends/family. I've been way too slack lately and allowing myself to indulge out of self pity (still adjusting to the move). It's not at ALL like me to be eating the way I have been. Not even eating that much in total, just junky things and excess carbs.

Pepperoni pizza with ranch dressing and Chalula hot sauce. OMG. So good.

Also, I made cookies the other night and we froze half the cookie dough and have been eating it with vanilla ice cream. Mmmm.

Mashed Potatoes (with gravy, please!)
Pringles Chips
Mac & Cheese
KitKat bars (oh hell, basically any candy bar)

However, I usually just end up driving myself to McDonald's. I LURVE french fries dipped in mayonaise!

(Damn you, blondebunny! I'm a little PMSy right now and this thread is NOT good for my ever-growing love handles!)

I've had a crap day-ice cream, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, Lindt milk chocolate things, chocolate brownie mousse pie with caramel and whipped cream...

Oh you weren't asking what I had for dinner. Seriously. Crap day.

ETA: and thanks LP. I think he did know he was loved.

I also like vanilla soymilk, ramen noodles , reeses cups, and mashed potatoes.

Weight Watchers Chocolate Ice-Cream seriously so good tastes like a cross between mousse and ice cream

Yoplait Forme Apple Pie Yogurt tastes like apple pie, is gluten free and like only 70 cals

Those are my two favourite current junkie but not junkie foods to eat when I need a pick me up

If I want something r4eally naughty I can't go past a milky way or maybe some gluten free cupcakes, doughnuts, cake or cookies but I try not to.

Deelight this sound way too healthy!!!!

I crave chocolate when I get PMS!! It's bad this month as there are three of us in the lab who are not taking any contraception, and you know the rumour that girls who live/work together are are not on the pill cycle together - well, I am here to tell you it's true. We had the alpha female (the one who drags everyone else into cycle) all worked out, then one of us got all messed up and she has thrown the other two of us out!! Like someone has gone two weeks early, the other one two weeks late, then again 5 days later (thanks for that ) and she just giggles and is proud she is the new alpha female! Meanwhile the two of us are not happy campers (two in one month - great).

So I guess my point is - there are three of us at work who all of a sudden go gaga for choccie - lucky for us there is a Chocolate Box at our work - I so feel for the guys in the lab. Three hormonal chocolate munching chicks to deal with - my BF is always saying how horrible it would be to work with us!! I think the boys have learnt that as soon as the mega packs of choccies start getting handed around the lab, they all of a sudden become very nice and meek and mild around us? It's not like I am actually going to tear your head off - I just want to!

It is so true about the cycling thing, I have had that happen before.

I know it sounds dreadfully healthy but they taste really good I seriously think the WW ice-cream tastes better then a lot of full fat ones . FF who hates anything low fat, sugar free etc really liked the WW ice-cream he refuses to taste the yogurt though and the cats won't touch it but OMG so gooood. I have been working out with a personal trainer for a while so I try to be a little conscious of what I eat, the forme cheesecake yogurt is also really good.

Just had to add chocolate boxes are evil,(but yum)though honey have you tasted the you'll love coles brand Belgian chocolate OMG seriously don't, it tastes way to good especially the fruit and nut and the mint, I had a whole mini mint 150g block myself the other night it is so creamy.

*strawberry ice cream
*gummy bears (although BF would have a coronary if he saw those)
*re-heated (piping hot!) and mixed together rice & beans w/ a fried egg on top  (Colombians eat this a lot. Its not weird, I promise!)
*grilled cheese (only american or swiss will do thank you!) and soup

*and of course, any kind of brownie...I agree with the consensus that chocolate is a must!

ETA: Almost forgot pizza!!! yes, a big slice (or two...three?) of NY-style pepperoni pizza!

Ok, i tried to quote from the Publix cake post above, but messed up somehow:

anyway, not to threadjack but

My friend had her cake made by Publix. She wanted something really plain, so it didn't make sense to her to spend a ton of money.

It was three square tiers, white icing all over with little white dots of icing. Then she had them put a silver ribbon around the base of each layer and put the same white icing dots on the ribbon. It was really pretty.

I think the inside was white cake/white icing. Plain BUT it was so good. Publix makes the best birthday cakes and this was just like that. It was by far one of the best tasting cakes i've ever had.

If your intolerant to food and exclude it from you diet massive cravings usually are a good indicator of intolerance. It is hard but stick with it :), it does get easier :). When I did my elimination I craved spaghetti bolognaise and brie cheese --> found out I am intolerant to certain types of dairy and wheat.

Comfort foods: My dad's home-cooking (my mom doesn't cook at all!) - I'll drive home for the weekend just to have some.  Living alone gives me no motivation to cook.
Pre-period: N/A - I never had the typical "period" symptoms and hardly ever get cramps though.  I'm sure if I ever get pregnant, hopefully not for awhile, I'll have to pay dearly for this luck.

You know what, I've been in FL 2 years almost and I have NEVER tried any bakery items from Publix....they always look so good though....And I must mention that I love their pre-packaged fruit bowl thingys (yes they are pricey, but so fresh!)

Anyway, since I am a foodie, I have a ton of comfort foods....

My faves are....
Mac and Cheese (either the Kraft or Velveeta Shells)
Mashed Potatoes (sans gravy unless it's the country white gravy)
Grilled Cheese
Chow Mein (lo mein in some restaurants....gotta love my carbs)
Bagel with Cream Cheese
Any kind of fruit and cheese plate.
Oh heck, anything with cheese...lol...
Cold Stone Birthday Cake Remix ice cream
Thick crust pizza with cheese, pepperoni and pineapple and ranch to dip!

While we are on the topic of comfort foods, some of my restaurant faves are....

*Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad at Fridays
*Bang Bang Shrimp, Saucy Shrimp and Ahi Tuna Sashimi at Bonefish Grill
* Filet Mignon at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
*Fruit and Cheese Plate, Cuban Steak Skewers and Chocolate Calzone at Cafe TuTu Tango.
* The Potato Cheese soup at Chilis.
* Chipotle Steak Tacos
*Cheeseburger and Cajun Fries at Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
*B-Dubs (Buffalo Wild Wings) boneless wing Thursday with the Parmesean Garlic sauce.
*The Crooked Bayou (a local downtown Orlando place) cajun tater tots and fried dill pickles....sooo good!
* Moes' Queso and chips.

Yeah, I probably could go on for days.....lol

ETA: My guilty pleasure is to dip French Fries in Sweet N Sour Sauce....lol

No! I am all about salt! I love pretzels and french fries with tons of salt as salty comfort foods. Mmmmm.
I'm even allowed to eat extra salt, since my blood pressure is a little on the low side. The doc recommended it for when I feel dizzy and sick. Comfort food with a purpose.

I'm moody, and if I smell something, I want it.

My apartment is right beside a restaurant, and I was coming home from the gym today and the smell of steak or hamburgers or something hit me.

I wanted a BIG hamburger and fries SOOOOOOOOOO bad... but I was good & went for my "healthy leftovers"...

and then dug into the left over Girl Scout Cookies...
