I'm planning a trip into the city to do some more dress shopping, and I'd like to get an idea of stores with gowns that are actually within my budget before I make appointments. Since I'm spending the whole day in the city, I'd like to visit as many stores as I can. I'm looking for A-line, empire or dropped waist, something unique on the bodice, plain or nearly plain skirt, preferably silk organza skirt or something equally soft and flowy. You'd think this wouldn't be hard, but I haven't found one yet where I love everything about it. I've been to nearly all the stores around the East and South Bay already. I'd like to pay no more than $3K **after tax and alterations**, so I think this eliminates a large number of stores. One store I'm definitely checking out is Amy Kuschel. Are there any others you ladies would recommend? ![]() |

Bridal Galleria in the Embarcadero is good. It's gotten some bad reviews online but I really enjoyed my experience there and they had a good selection. They have a wide range of dresses, so make sure to tell them what your budget is. I'm sure they have plenty within your range.

I was going to say Amy Kuschel (that is where I am 99% sure I am getting my dress from, but you already said it!)It sounds like you are describing my dress... Glamour Closet is also nearby and you don't need an appt. They are all samples though, so if you're not a bridal 6-8-10 (or smaller) that might not work for you. But its an easy trip, you go in, mark the dresses you want to try on, and just try them on, rather than the rigamarole of them bringing you dresses. Also Alexandra is pretty good.

If you are going to be in the San Fransico area you may want to check out Le Jardin, even if you don't think you want to go custom made, you might still find some fab custom corset.... ![]() http://www.darkgarden.com/lejardin/faq.php#1

Thanks, goldenstar, rockzilla, and Junkenpo! Those are very helpful suggestions. I'm going to check them out.
