Trying to decide what to do with this little .32 princess cut.  I know it's small compared to most of yours but I like it.  It's currently in a pendant and I want to put it into a ring.  I am thinking maybe a simple half bezel.  I am also maybe thinking of adding a pink sapphire to either side and turning it into a 3 stone.  It has incredible sparkle and shine and deserves to be in a ring.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  Would Whiteflash be a good choice to have this set at a reasonable price?   THANKS!!

Specs

.32 carat
D
VS2
medium blue fluorescence
polish very good
symmetry good

Very pretty! Would this be for an e-ring, or a RHR? What styles do you like: antique or contemporary? I think it would look good in a halo. That would really accent the stone, but there are so many nice halos out there, there are too many photos to post!

Wouldn't this be pretty in a star set three stone? Would you do pink gold around the sapphires?

Sorry that would be helpful.  Definitely a RHR.  I am open to just about any style.  I thought about halo, the only thing I worry about is keeping the tiny diamonds clean so they sparkle.   I have seen friends with that style of e-ring and once they get gunked up they don't look very nice.

Would it look weird to wear a solitaire as a RHR?

My aunt has a full bezel princess and I love it. So I would do a full bezel. Since you mentioned a three stone... with pink sapphires!

Oh wow!!!  Thank you so much Gypsy!  That is what I had in mind but couldn't find a picture of one.  Would a ring like this still let light bounce around the stones? I have never had a bezel set but like that it would protect the stones for every day wear and like the clean look.

My aunts stone is still very bright and it's bezel set, that's my only experience with bezel set princesses though. It's a very clean look though I love it.

Trillions would like nice too.

Maybe I should have put this in the colored stone forum   :)

I photoshopped your aunt's ring Gypsy to get an idea and I like it, I hope that was okay.

OOPS! Sorry if I mislead. That's not my aunt's ring. Another PSer posted that one a while back. My aunt's is a soliare with pave in the shank and a matching band... but it's got a bezel (not a halo) around it.

ETA: Looks FABULOUS with the pink!

I think that if you have a ring with lots of little diamonds, you just need to visit your jeweler often to get it cleaned.

I tried on a Ritani 3-stone with sapphire sides that would look good with your diamond. Here it is (link http://www.ritani.com/products/view/516/in_collection/3):

Also this one (link http://www.ritani.com/products/view/611/in_collection/3) It's funny, but in the photo, it looks like the ring has 4 sections with diamond haloes around the stones, and in the video, it shows only 3 haloes. I think it would look cool with colored sapphires in the sides:

I just wanted to say what a beautiful stone that is! I understand why you want to feature it in an RHR. I love the bezel idea!

I'm not sure what your budget is, but I loooove these settings for your princess:

http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=1041&action=show_detail

technically, for a radiant...but I bet they could make it for princess: http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=1071&action=show_detail

with pink or light blue sides: http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=1542&action=show_detail

this one is very affordable: http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=923&action=show_detail

This is my all-time favorite princess ring. It was a vintage piece on Fay Cullen.

What an exquisite D-nearly perfect clarity stone! I can see that little baby in an antique-style platinum setting. There is a delicately thin shank that tapers up to the all enclosed head, which includes the bezel-set center flanked by two enlongated and tapered pink sapphire baguettes. The sides of the low-set ring have a lightly etched floral pattern.

Oh my gosh, with so many beatiful settings, she needs to get several with pop-out prongs so she can put the diamond into several different ones! Wouldn't that be great if we could really do that?

Oh my gosh, I know, soooo many choices!  I think we have settled on a half bezel "floating" style.  I want to see all the light bouncing around, etc  :)

Thank you all for your help, advice, and pretty pictures!

ooooh, this would look stunning with your icey white stone!  My friend has a .3 stone in a setting similar to this and it looks great and fairly large.

Thanks!!!  Here is a pic that shows one with a princess cut.  My hubby is usually more of a "whatever you like honey" guy when it comes to jewelry but when I showed him this pic he said to stop looking at all the others he wants it mounted like this    :)
