I am going to try them on this week... just wondering if they are as beautiful in person as online.

Well, if they are anything like my dress, they are much more beautiful in person!  I don't even recognize my dress on the model!

I tried on dress #3.... it was gorgeous!!! It was very similar to the Casablanca 1831 that I was considering (not sure what your budget is for a dress, but Casablanca has a lot of similar dresses that are beautiful.). Although I liked the subtle touch of sparkle on the 1831 once I tried both on. I ended up with Casablanca 1881 in all ivory, but the Paloma Blanca line is just stunning....

TAKE PICS IF YOU TRY ANY ON!

I just looked up your Casablanca dress and it's absolutely stunning. I wonder if they carry that line in Toronto?

As for budget I would like to spend less than 2 g...

I tried on the second one and loved it!  It is so light weight.  When the consultant showed it to me I didnt think I would like it, but on it is just beautiful.  I am also going to try on #1 when I go back to the store.

great googly moogly, I love the paloma blanca 3901. I tried to post a picture, but it's flash on the web site and I don't know how to work with that. I also like 3806.

I love that third dress that you posted - that's what made me check out the site. I definitely love your taste and can't wait to see pictures!

im happy to hear they are lightweight! they look like they would be heavy... i guess the silk makes them easier to wear!

i am in love with #1... the only thing im scared of is my boobs won't fit :|

I am usually a size 4 but my boobs are like a size 6 so that type of style generally doesn't fit me well... the tops with the lace end up being to small... argh i hope it suits me. Guess we will see thurs!

I tried on 3 season's worth of Paloma's during my dress search. They have lovely fabrics, great structure in the gowns (boning and so forth), aren't too heavy and are uniformy lovely in terms of the little details that make a dress fabulous. I never found one that was "it" for me in terms of style but I SO wanted to. She was my favorite designer when it came to balance between price and quality. Plus you can order them from Pearl's Place.

Dress # 1 is stunning! It looks SO SIMILAR to my dress, but mine is a Maggie Sottero. I only wanted to spend around 1K. However, they look a lot alike and my dress is sooooo much more beautiful in person than online! It is fitted throughout my waist & hips and then slightly Aline! I think you should definitely go with dress # 1 out of the 4 or 5 that you posted, however they were all beautiful!

12/27/08 will be here before I know it!

I tried on the third one down (with the vneck). It was beautiful, but I'm only 5'3" and it was a bit too much fabric for me. I felt gorgeous in it, though, and I'm positive you'll love it when you try it on, too!

Enjoy :)

Hi! I don't have any pics of me in it yet! I get it the first of august and I will post some pics! Really only the top half is similar, I actually like your bottom better but I don't think I could have pulled it off! Here is a link to mine: maggie

Haha, I read your post earlier and thought to myself, "nice to say, but... yeah right, unless we're talking about those weirdo artistic bridal gown shots." However, I agree with you 100% after having just browsed the "Maggie Brides" section of the Maggie Sottero web site. In every single case, the girls in the pictures (of all shapes and sizes) look more lovely than the models. That's really encouraging to someone who's never tried on a wedding gown!

#3 is actually Pronovias Diamante.. Here's a really awful picture of me, but it gives you an idea of what it looks like on a 'real' person.

Oh, I tried on dress #1! In fact, I was really considering it as THE dress after we left the store. My friend really loved it. But then when my mom and sister came to town, we weren't able to find it at the other boutique we went to then ended up finding my dream Lazaro and couldn't pass up that deal :)

The Paloma was really pretty, though. And even though I originally intended to avoid dresses w/ pick up skirts, this one was more subtle and had a nicer drape. I didn't totally love the back, but the front and side were definitely very pretty. It was also really comfortable to wear. I believe at the salon we went to it was priced around $1900 or so?

Here are some pictures that we took at the salon (btw, I also love dress #3!!):

Hey Newbie,

Was the color kind of pinky? It's hard to tell on the pics... Did it come in any other shades?

I think it was more of an ivory, though I can't quite remember now. I'm attaching some additional photos that a girl sent me who was trying to sell her dress. From the daytime wedding, it does appear to maybe be kind of a blush shade...but the indoor photos make it look more ivory.

It definitely wasn't white...But I think I recall that it maybe comes in 2 different shades?
