hi there -

i recently bought a 1.15 carat, F, VVS1 round diamond for 5700 and was wondering if it is a good deal? the diamond came with certification papers from DTL (Diamond Test Laboratory). Has anyone heard of them?

I don't know either but I also was wondering if its a good deal. This jewelery shop had one that was e 1.07 vvs1 very good for $7000. That seems too good to be true.

It would help to ask an appraiser - it really is a very good deal, esp. of the cut is great too!

Most often, diamonds with such high grades will go to GIA to justify the premium. I would definitely check on this one.

The price sounds feasible rather than plainly "too good to be true" to me.

Considering the fact that "Diamond Test Laboratory" is shaky English, I wouldn't bet on it (Vegas pun intended). A quick search would show that a diamond that size, color and clarity would go for well over $10K here on Pricescope. You should definitely have it appraised, DTL is not one of the well known, well regarded grading labs.
