This website has been invaluable, and I have a fare idea as to the type of diamond I am after. A 0.75 Hearts and Arrows F, SI1. The information I am after is to whether I will experience any problems getting it sent OS. I have been in contact with our customs, and it seems that all I will have to pay is a 10% GST and the importer will have to complete a Formal Customs Entry. Also how is the best way to go about the purchase. Do I just make dirct contact to the sellers and then ask to be sent a copy of the Certificate. One other quick thing. How does IGI compare with GIA or AGS. There seems to be more of a tendancy to IGI in Australia than any other Grader. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Garry H (Cut Nut) Ideal Rock Total Posts: 11,567 Last Post: 11/21/2009 Member Since: 8/16/2000	There are more European and Israeli certified diamonds than USA certed diamonds in Austraila because of where we are geographically relative to cutting centers. Some of the certs floating around Australia are very poor grading accuracy. We have plenty of GIA, but only a hand full of AGS certs because few customers here know what they are. HRD is very popular in Australia too. If you are in Melbourne we are happy to help you further. If you are in Melbourne we are happy to help you further. ---------------- The reason that I am looking off shore for my diamond purchase, is that the diamond retailers I have visited in Australia don't seem to be passing on the diamond discounts created by the rising $Aus vs $US. Also Gary you mentioned HRD Certs being good. I have vague recolections of a Sydney Diamond company just recently being busted for selling Diamonds with HRD certs that were made up. What is the best means of getting in contact with you Gary?
