My mom bought me these diamond hoop ear rings from an Indian Jeweler in New Jersey as a surprise birthday gift for me. I am so thankful and I think it's very sweet of her. They are tiny hoops with 8 stones each. However they didn't give her any certificate with it. All they did was write the following on the receipt. 0.42CTw GH/VS She paid $700. Here is my/her question. I wear them every day and they are very pretty but they seem to fall out when I am wrestling with my 2 year old and I am always in fear of losing them because the hook doesn't seem strong enough. Can I take it an appraiser, see what it's really worth and try to change it into a better sturdier setting? Is it worth the money I will be paying for appraising and all or should I have her take it back to the jeweler and see what they can do? |

What a sweet gift!!!! I would take the earrings to the jeweler and have them make the sturdier.
