I like the deeper blue colors and the sea foam greens. I'd stay away from the ones that are very light. Most aquas should be clean.

BTW I noticed ajsgems has a few pear shaped aquas. I've never bought from them before but I hear they have a good return policy.

I also don't know what size would be good...I want it to be large enough that it is substantial, but since I'm planning to put a halo around it, a little worried that it would be too over the top...what do you think?

I think you should check out Catmom's if you haven't already!

I want that necklace. It is so beautiful!

I would also check out sky blue topaz if price is a factor...That's my thought process anyway...

Look for a colour that is advertised as "Santa Maria."

I think catmom's is lovely...thats one I came across in my search...I think maybe a bit thicker halo w/milgraining for mine...

I also kind of like the idea of a fat pear - pros/cons?

I know this isn't what you were asking for, but it's a favorite aqua necklace of mine (hope it loads properly...). I looooove the idea of a pear shaped aqua with a pave halo for your something blue, though.

This pendant is all diamond but I like the way it's set up with the airline between the center stone and the halo. This aquamarine pendant is similar but I like the style of the first one better. These are emeralds and earrings to boot, but I really like that the halo diamonds aren't the same size all the way around. I like the look of the bezel set diamonds too.

My memory is failing me at the moment, but I think it was from the Lussori website. I don't see it there any longer, though. I believe it was a ridiculously expensive vintage Tiffany & Co. piece. I'm in love with aquas, though, so I can't wait to see the responses either. :)
