I have been working with a local independent local broker in Memphis, TN-(Mednikow Jewelers) probably most similar to Solomon Bros in Atlanta, GA-sell Yurman, Rolex.Crisscut, etc. I have found a a Cushion Modified Brilliant
GIA certified
2.09  ct
I
SI2
7.88x7.07x4.85
Depth 68.6%
Table 59%
No fluro
culet very small
$11,765
want to put in a micropave bevel halo setting similar to Ritani Endless Love. Any thoughts or comments? they are estimating around $6K for the setting.

Thanks in advance. I have no photos. there is a small inclusion/feather at 8 o'clock on the edge facet that would likely be covered by the bevel. Definitely only seen when pointed out under loupe.

Welcome Jenn!

Cushions need to be seen to be judged, if you have seen and love this diamond, then you are a good part of the way there!  Is it eyeclean to match your comfort level?  Try to check it out away from the store lights if you can, as sometimes an inclusion can pop out in some lights and not others.   Have you considered buying online, or do you prefer to buy from a jeweller?

thanks for the response! I hope to post a pic soon. Yes, i have seen it in person in multiple lightings, including natural window light. it is fantastic! Looks very white! the only inclusion we could find was at 8 oclock on the very edge of the stone and looked a tad cloudy. only seen under the loupe and eye clean. she pointed it out to me right away. my untrained eye had to struggle to see it. she was very patient and showed all types of shapes, cuts, sizes, clarities to narrow down what i liked. she was no pressure. I chose this jeweler for a couple of reasons: 1-i have a .55 RB VS1 G to trade back in. 2-they are very reputable in the community and family owned. i am certainly not opposed to internet vendors, and i am shopping them as well as recommended here. my jeweler says they are very competitive with internet pricing and this does seem to be the case. they will allow 10% discount for cash payment.  i was just wondering about the depth, table, etc and did it seem ok? the cut is not the "crushed ice" look, it has the large facets.

Jenn it sounds lovely, with fancy shapes you can't predict how they will look with depth, table and angles, unlike rounds, so as you have seen it and love it, then you are way ahead of the game!  Cushions are tricky, so if you see one and it makes your heart sing, that is the most important thing!  It sounds to be my type of cushion also, with the chunky facets!

I am so glad to have been of help to you, and I look forward to seeing some pics if you get it!!!  Oh goodness - for micropave, Leon Mege seems to be the man, if you type his name into the search tool, you can read about others experiences with him, and see some examples of his gorgeous work!

Here is his website - www.artofplatinum.com
