Do you mind letting me know what you think about this stone:

Round  1.57 carat
GIA certified
G
SI2

depth 62.1
Table 57
Crown 35
Pavillion 47
eye clean

Not sure what this means, but needs a setting to accomodate a 7.50 mm round diamond

Price approx. 9, 300

Thanks for your time!  Shelly

Hi ShellyS! Can you please check those numbers? The pavillion looks way off, are you sure it's not 40.7? If those numbers are in fact correct, I would steer clear as the HCA advises that it has a dangerously thin girdle, though I suspect it's just a typo?

If the pavillion is 40.7 then the numbers look good. Can you get as IS image to confirm?

Ditto Hun, please check the numbers Shelly, if in fact the pavilion angle is 40.7 in reality, then this diamond could be fine!  The 7.50mm comment refers to the diamond being in the 7.50mm range for diameter.

Thank you Honey22 and Lorelei!

The pavillion is a 41, sorry about the typo.   With this do you think it is a fair price of approx. 9300?

Thanks for your help!!! Shelly

I am not sure how to get an IS image?  This is not an online diamond, can I still get it?

You are welcome Shelly!  As to pricing, is this diamond with a brick and mortar jeweller, or online?  This can make a difference in the price.

It is a B and M but is know to see "wholesale" .  They are very reputable where we live.  Do you feel I can find a something comparable online for a lesser amount?  Thanks Shelly

I had a look online, and it seems the price is right when comparing similar.  Also wholesalers don't sell to the public, this diamond you are considering looks as if it could be worth considering, do you like the look of it?  If you do, then ask to check it out carefully in different lights away from the store, so you can make sure you like the look of it in real life conditions so to speak!
