Hello.  I could really use some input on these even though I'm quite aware you have to see radiants to really appreciate them.  I know this is a lot of information to digest, but I'm in a bit of a dilemma.  You see, I plan on sending the three 'best' stones to Neil Beaty for a prepurchase consultation and then buying something after that and I am having a difficult time deciding which three to send.

One stone is at a local B&M whereas the others are from an online vendor.  I've seen the local stone and it's really white and pretty, I just think it's probably over priced but am listing it to see what you think.  The other four stones I have IdealScopes and magnified images for, but the IS images seem overexposed so I'm not sure if they'll be helpful or not.

As an additional bit of information I am tending to like the more rectangular radiants, at least the few that I've seen in person.  (I'll be setting the stone in an ME10 Danhov ring.) I saw one that was an H SI2 and it was WAY too yellow for me, so I worry a bit about the G stone.  I like my stones super white and really clean and also prefer the crushed ice look to the chunky facets.  If any of you would like to suggest other stones, please feel free to do so.

Thanks so much for any help/input provided.

Hi Girlie!

Great move to send the best three to Neil!  Personally I would not choose the first one, as to my eyes it doesn't look great in the pics, but you will know best as you have seen it in person.

So my choices would be #'s 2, 3 and 4 to send to Neil.

Hi Lorelei thanks for your response.  I wonder, do you also think the local stone seems a bit pricey considering it's an SI2 and has an EGL-USA cert?  I've not actually seen stone #1, just the local stone (which I didn't assign a number to).

Thanks again to any who respond.

I ran a search for similar, I found some D SI2 radiants of a comparable size with an EGL report, it seems they are priced at just over or around 3k, GIA graded a few hundred more approximately, so the price does seem high, but brick and mortar stores can have steeper prices.  I would look more at the others perhaps.

Thanks Daniel, my boyfriend really liked the looks of stone #2 as well.

Does anyone else have any input?
