Hi I am going to buy a 1.7ct asscher, E VS1. I am wondering if anyone has this size or something close?? I saw a 2 ct and it was soooo gaudy and huge. The 1.56 was a tad too small so now I want this 1.7 but I have no idea what the size will be. So please give me some feedback!!! Thank!![]()

Were you looking at these stones in a setting or loose? I know that GOG has a video comparing a 1.56 carat asscher with a 2 carat asscher, are those the stones you're refering to by chance? I find asschers really tough to compare in carat weights because they have a wide range of depths, which really affects spread. Plus the table % have a wide range and larger tables make the diamond appear larger. Do you happen to have the demensions? Just for reference, BECG has a stunning 1.8 carat asscher...hers is the only one I can think of between 1.5 and 2 carats, though hopefully others will chime in. Here's a link to one of BECGs beautiful threads: http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=85639

No, I actually went to a jeweler and had them show me so I could see them. One was too big the other too small so now I am getting it in the middle. I am just wondering if anyone has a pic of a 1.7 asscher so i could see it.

Thank! ![]() We have quite a few members who have 2 carat diamonds. So perhaps what you meant to say that the size was to big for you personally? I'm sure you didn't mean to offend anyone, being new here and all. ![]() ![]() To answer your question. It depends on your finger size and also the shape of your hands how something will look on you. And with fancies carat size doesn't always tell the story. MM size is more accurate. You could get a very deep 2 carat that could face up small. Or a very shallow one that could face up large. Do you know the MM sizes of the stones you looked at?

Why don't you try here for step cuts, you might get some ideas. Failing that, follow NewEnglandLadys advice and look at goodoldgolds site as they give you tutorials and videos. What size finger are you? __________________________________________________________ |
