Hey everyone! I posted back in April when my fiance proposed. Here's the link to the original engagement ring.

http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=82640

We went back to the jeweler because we were upset with how bulky and unrefined the prongs were. Also one of the baguettes was not high quality in its cut, it never reflected light, always looked dark. Anyway, we asked them to replace the baguettes and to polish the prongs. It's no Mark Morrell or Leon, but it is significantly better and I think I'm happy now. How could I not be?? :) We intended to have Mark do the setting but the wait was 7 months!

Stats: 2.71 G VS2

OH! And, I'm sorry but there is a white fuzz attached to one of the prongs that you can see in some of the pictures. It's not a scratch on the surface of the stone.

iluvcarats- I'm laughing so hard! hahah! Thanks! My hands are the same as everyone else's, I just managed to crop off the chub! haha. I actually have really long fingers, and I'm a "tight 6" so it is not a good combo for making stones look large. I'd need about a 5 carat stone to get good finger coverage! And even then my fingers are super long so rings never look large on me. Oh well. It is what it is.

It's gorgeous!! Holy macaroni. Love the stones and the setting is really classy. It really showcases the beauty of the asscher.

BTW - who can wait 7 months for an e-ring AFTER the proposal?!! Is he crazy?   His work is amazing, but you ended up with a knockout ring! Congrats!

Thanks Skippy!!!! Now WHAT do I do for a wedding band??? I think we've spent enough for now so I may do a plain platinum thin band and wear it next to it. Then maybe for my 30th birthday I'll get a Leon eternity to stack with the wedding band and can switch the ering to my right hand. Asschers are tough with wedding bands. Any suggestions? You all know best! I'd rather get a cheaper wedding dress and get an eternity band now.

happygirl- Thank you so much! I totally agree! I couldn't wait. We called him about 2 months before my fiance proposed, so it would just not have worked. It would have been absolutely divine if he would have made it, but this was less than half the price.... also allowing more funding for a possible eternity band.

Did you see this thread? http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=86288  I think the Bev K would look great with your ring.  Pearlman's carries BevK.  Congrats, beautiful ring!!

Can I edit my original post? Now that I think about it, the wait may not have been 7 months for Mark and I don't want to discourage anyone from calling him! It may have been 4 or 5, I don't even remember, 7 came to me at first but I think that's because the setting would have been $7000 with baguettes. It was back in January and I just can't remember exactly. Sorry!! Feel terrible now.

The prongs look great and the ring is beautiful! I love step cuts with tapered baguettes!! I'd probably go for a simple channel-set baguette wedding band since it would be really comfy for daily wear--but I think I just have sensitive skin between my fingers or something because milgrain is slightly painful to me. Thanks for posting the pics, they're great!

NewEnglandLady- thanks!! your rings are GORGEOUS! an inspiration to me! I love mixing sapphires in and it also helps make the stacking look clean, you know? Thanks for the tip on the milgrain. I will definitely try one on locally and see how it feels.

I have really short little fingers.
My ering looks huge, but my fingers still look short and stubby.
Maybe my ring will mezmerize enough that people don't notice my fingers...LOL
I would do anything for your long beautiful fingers...
Ahhh ..the grass is always greener!
Enjoy your new bling!

I love deco too! (and edwardian and art nouveau!)
