Hello everyone and Happy Friday!

I understand the difference between SI1 and VS2 in terms of flaws but visually speaking, has anyone ever noticed a difference between the two? We’re trying to maximize our diamond for our dollar and seeing what we would sacrifice in terms of quality.  We already know we don’t want anything less than a G in color because I like sparkle ()

Thank you all so much and yay its the weekend!

"Sparkle" is not related to the body color of a diamond, but more to cut quality.

As for clarity, hunt for a stone which is suitably "eye clean" (by whatever YOUR definition is) - this could be an SI1 or SI2 and even, albiet infrequently, an I1!...you may be pleasantly surprised by what you can find...AND your wallet will be overjoyed!!

That's why I come here.  I did not know that sparkle was about the cut quality LOL.  Thank you for that very helpful info!

Gary gives great advice, and it is all about the cut, this is what gives a diamond it's beauty!  Concentrate on finding a great cut and you will definitely get the sparkle factor you are looking for.  Any colour grade will look it's best if the cut quality of the diamond is good.  Are you considering buying online or from a jeweller?

If you have a good jeweller who stocks AGS0 Cut Grade or GIA Excellent cut grade, or even Hearts on Fire diamonds, take a look at some different colours and clarities if you can to see how cut can make such a difference.

Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on because an enormous part of his owner's heart, soul, very existence dies also...but that can never be laid to rest, it is not meant to be...

From a grading standpoint there is a differance visually between the two grades that is noticable under the loupe.I am with those who recommend that the area to consider first is cut.I like the idea of going with a G color and a true SI1 will save dollars with out sacrificing quality over all on the gem.
