....than one with diamonds only on top? I love the look of the 3-sided shank (like Leon's), but I am afraid it is too delicate for everyday wear. Any thoughts?

Not sure if it's structurally weaker because of the "holes" or stronger because they are filled with diamonds, lol...my instinct is weaker...BUT it certainly is much more delicate. More stones to pop off means you need to be much more careful about bashing it around. For an everyday wear ring, unless you are the most delicate person ever, I think single row is more practical.

BUT that being said, if you really want 3 side, you just need to know that you'll need to be a bit more careful with it and you'll need to go into it with the attitude of not caring if you lose a stone every now and then. I think the people that have the worst time with 3 sided pave are those who freak out over a lost stone. It'll happen. Get used to it.

I hear ya. I really love styles like this Martin Flyer, but I wonder it is too ostentatious not to mention delicate.

MF settings are a bit much *for me*, but many people love them. Just depends on your personal style!!!

I know there is at least one person here who wears a 3 sided pave set everday. Come out, come out wherever you are?

I really wouldn't risk it myself. I'm cautious with my one sided bead set pave. But diamonds on diamonds does not seem like a good idea. I wouldn't consider a 3 sided pave ring to be appropriate for typical everyday wear. JMO of course.

I'm starting to agree it's just not too practical. Maybe I'll stick with plain sides. Thanks for your input, neatfreakk and lyra!

I'll come out!  My e-ring has three-sided pave, and I wear it daily - two months now with no problems.  I take it off when I am cleaning, doing, dishes, etc - but I don't have a problem with it.  Sure, it's dainty, but I love it!  I don't think it's actually weaker because of the three sided pave...  Here's a pic of the side for reference.

okay, so mine isn't as small as the shank on that one, but you get the picture.  Hope that helps.

And, I'll be doing a plain WB because there's so much going on with my ring that more diamonds would just look to busy.  Is that a sin to say on here?

I plan on wearing my 3-sided ring every day. I won't wear it while doing anything that could cause damage like gardening, working out, going to the beach etc.

I agree: I would wear it everyday too but be mindful to take it off for strenuous chores.  I would want to enjoy it as much as possible.

I have a 3-sided pave right hand ring, and as long as I take it off when I get home from work, I don't tend to worry about it at all.

I don't wear it with another 3-sided ring, and I don't think it's a good idea to do so.

I don't have one so I can't comment on it but, I saw one this past month that I just loved. I have been to see it twice. Each time I put it on I luv luv luv it. Than go home and come to my senses because there is no way I could wear this on a daily basis and not feel freaked I am going to loose a stone. Not to mention just the maintenance of it. I don't think I want the hassle. But boy oh boy........pure bling bling beauty thats for sure. The pic does not do this justice. the prongs are almost invisible they are so petite and set very low. In the pic they look very high. They are not...check out the rest of the sylvie collection. Lots of beautiful rings on there.

I emailed spectrum yesterday to ask who else sells their rings in our state. They emailed me in less than 24 hours to give me the names and phone numbers of all their retailers here. They will memo a piece to one of their retailers as well to look at they said.

I saw maybe 5 different styles from Sylvie collection in person. The one I posted above was my fav.

The engagement ring that I picked out looks very similar to your RHR. What type of wedding band would you suggest wearing with it? Do you know if they make 2 sided pave bands? With diamonds on the top and just one side instead of 2?

I recently bought a new Michael B 3-sided set (both e-ring and w-band are 3-sided) and I wear them everyday.  They are definitely more delicate though (I've already lost one stone) so I'm more careful about how I clean them and try not to be too rough with them, in general.  I will wear them to sleep on occasion, but will take them off to shower and wash dishes (mostly because the water makes them real loose and they spin too much).

I have worn them to the gym, but I don't do weights (mostly cardio and running on the treadmill).  I also have the Ritani Endless Love and I am definitely much more careful with this MB set because they are 3-sided and don't want to bang them up unnecessarily.  It is definitely possible to wear a 3-sided ring daily, but I think you just have to be a little more cautious is all.  HTH.
