Can you make the image bigger? i can't tell if it is a cushion or round brilliant. I think it is hard to judge from a picture. Do you have the numbers from the cert? Welcome to Pricescope!

I'm sorry - when I make the picture bigger it won't upload. The picture is not mine - I cut and pasted it a while ago and I can't even remember the source. I'm not positive, but I think the diamond is a cushion cut. The biggest question I have is - is it too much yellow? The ring looks to be yellow gold with yellow pave diamonds in the band. Most of the time I see yellow diamonds with platinum settings and white diamond sidestones. I love the way it looks in the photo, but when I visit jewlery stores they have nothing like this for me to see in person. What do you think?

Joyful, that is a pretty common look right now. I am SURE you can find many incarnations of that ring on this website and others. I don't actually think that is a yellow gold ring though...I think it's just the lights.

Justme1 - thank you for trying to make the picture bigger. I don't think this ring is very common because to me it looks all yellow (yellow gold, yellow pave diamonds in the setting, and yellow diamond center stone). I was hoping to get some opinions on all the yellow. I think it looks beautiful, but I know that it's hard to tell from a picture. I've visited quite a few jewlery stores in Ohio and so far I haven't seen a yellow diamond set in an all yellow setting. Does anyone like yellow diamonds set in yellow gold without any white gold or white diamonds? Thanks!

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, a yellow gold setting with yellow diamonds usually looks WAY more yellow IMO. BUT that being said, I think yellow diamonds are at their best in yellow gold! Here is some eye candy for you, Heidi Klum's ering: ![]()

If you like yellow gold go for it. I contemplated yellow diamonds in my e-ring, but decided against it. I would like a yellow diamond band though. ![]() As someone else said it's probably the lighting. It looks like a cushion to me. If you have a Tiffany's nearby, go look at the Novo for an idea of what that ring is like (just imagine a different center ;) Check out this thread and do a search on cushions. http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=85467

As mentioned, this is a common style at the moment but not in all yellow - plus you will be looking at a Much greater cost for natural fancy yellow diamonds,..just a heads up.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "And let today embrace the past with remembrance and the future with longing." It is a very popular look right now, so I agree with neatfreak that it should not be too difficult to find a vendor (online anyway). What part of Ohio are you from? I live in Ohio as well. As for yellow diamonds and seeting...I prefer a white band/shank in a ring, but DEFINITELY yellow gold prongs to bring out the color.

Arjunajane makes a good point; it's not common to see a yellow fancy in regular B&M stores because they're quite costly. For instance blue nile is selling this 1.6 cushion yellow for approximately 14,800.00 USD http://www.bluenile.co.uk/fancy-yellow-cushion-cut-diamond_c-LD01059144 On the other hand, a white diamond cushion of the same size with decent color and clarity costs less than half http://www.thecharlescollection.com/diamond-details.aspx?id=53164 If you really like the look of a fancy yellow, and want to use a yellow pave surrounding it, I definitely don't think a halo is needed. A vivid center stone like that speaks for itself! ![]() I know a man who is a diamond cutter. He mows the lawn at Yankee Stadium.

Thank you everyone for your input! I live in Columbus and we have a few good jewelers in town, but they carry a limited selection of yellow diamonds and they are always set in a platinum band with yellow prongs. I do love Heidi Klum's ring! I'm learning about the cost of yellow diamonds and I might need to rule one out, but I'm still looking around to see if we can find a smaller yellow for around 8k. I appreciate your input and really enjoy this forum. The Tiffany Novo is beautiful. I'd love to see it in yellow gold with yellow diamonds. Thanks again for your help.

I like the contrast of white metal or stones with yellow diamond center. Check out Catmom's blingy yellow radiant/cushion http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=71936
