How much of your native country have you seen? How many states in the USA or Australia? Counties in the UK? Provinces in Canada? We are trying to visit more of North America while we are living here, and out of curiosity, we sat down to count. I have visited: USA: 13 states Canada: 9 provinces And for good measure, UK: 11 counties  (And for extra good measure, 24 other countries. Teehee!) |

I've seen 24 states in the US plus Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Canada (3 provinces) to round out North America. This summer we'll be adding another 4 states to our US list. In Europe: 8 countries I think... South America: 2 islands Central America: 2 countries Asia: China only And then a number of Caribbean islands too... Luckily my parents valued travel when I was young, so I am well travelled!

I've been to every county in Ireland. Considering it takes only 4-5 hours to drive across the country, it hasn't been too hard to visit all of them.

I've been to 39 states. I've only been to two countries outside the US, though.

Ooh, cool thread! I've been to 33 states in the US! Not bad... ETA that I've been to 9 European countries and 2 Central American countries. And I've flown out of Toronto-does that count?!

Forgot to add in other countries- I've been to 13 other european countries, Africa, 10 states in the US and Mexico. D and I are travelling to Singapore and Australia in 13 days time, so looking forward to that immensely!

In Australia I have been to QLD the lower part, NSW (Sydney and the outskirts) Victoria (Melbourne) and Canberra, I am hoping to go to Perth later this year :D. Pacific Islands I have been to New Caledonia Europe: Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia. States - most all except up north and Alaska (have flown out of NY though) Countries US Canada Mexico Australia Holland Germany Switzerland France England Fiji Vanuatu French Polynesia that is all I can think of right now.

Me... Canada: 8 provinces, 1 territory (I've lived in 4 provinces) US: 10 States Africa: 4 countries (I've lived in South Africa) Asia: 5 countries Pacific: 4 countries (I've lived in NZ) Europe: 7 countries South and Central America: 3 countries Plus, we were in Easter Island last year - I'm not sure whether to count that as South America or the Pacific, but it was super-cool!!

Hmm... I've been to: Iowa (where I live) Illinois (born/raised) Chicago (which is a different state altogether from IL) ;) Missouri Indiana Ohio Wisconsin Michigan...I think Kentucky Tennessee Alabama Georgia Florida Pennsylvania West Virginia Virginia I THINK North Carolina Maryland D.C. New York Hawaii and I'll be adding Texas in 2 weeks! So...that's about 20. Counties: Italy Vatican (that counts, right?!) Monaco France Spain Mexico Barbados Jamaica Belgium (sortof) Total: 8ish I feel like I've done a lot more international travel even though that's a short list. I went to Italy and France twice, and stayed in Italy for a month. While there's definitely a big world to see, I'm really itching to go back to though. I love that country so much...and strangely, it's the one European nationality that I have 0% ancestry. I also absolutely adore Mexico and I'm trying to get back there, too.

Whether or not I've been to every county in Ireland depends on your definition of Ireland! I've been to every county in the Republic (26) but only about three out of the six northern counties. I've been to Canada (Vancouver, and Newfoundland - the latter was an unplanned detour on the flight home!) and the United States. In the US, I've been to: California Oregon Washington New Jersey Illinois Wisconsin Florida Some of those I lived there for a while, some of them I just visited or passed through. In Europe, I've been to: All four of the countries in the UK Belgium The Netherlands France Italy The Vatican City Austria Switzerland Germany Hungary The Czech Republic Romania Slovakia Slovenia Croatia Serbia Again, some of those I lived there for a while, some of them I just visited or passed through. And since you specifically asked about the UK, I've been to about 8 (it's a guess as I'm not sure how many I've been to in Scotland!)

Ooooh! I forgot Hawaii, the Vatican City (is that cheating, Delster?!), and Iceland. So, that's 14 states... plus add New Mexico and Missouri this summer (fingers crossed)... we want to visit the Cahokia Mounds, which I gather are in IL, but just across the Mississippi from Missouri. Total of 29 countries on 5 continents.

We sailed out of Christchurch, NZ down to the Ross Sea for 4 weeks. There's a research station down there, but I didn't actually make it on land, we stayed on the boat. I still count it though! I have visited: 35 states (my family never flies anywhere on vacation, and likes long road trips) 2 provinces Only the US and Canada so far.  But, if we do the Mediterreanan crusie for the honeymoon, we will be adding Spain, perhaps France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and perhaps Croatia!!

Well, OK, they do have their own stamps and their own "army" (even if they're all Swiss...damn cute outfits too). And their own Ambassadors. I have suuuuuuch a funny story about my dad and the Holy See at an international meeting, but I guess I can't really tell it on here. AWWWRGH! So. Funny. We'll just have to meet up in Ireland some time, just so I can tell you this story.

States, let's see...18 of those - Mainly the West Coast and the Northeast - would love to see the south and more of the midwest... Provinces: Only 3, but they are the "big" ones: Quebec (actually lived there), Ontario and BC Europe: 8 Central America: 2 (Mexico and Belize) Edited: I do not count any states where I just had a layover...that would significantly up the number, but I say if you don't leave the airport, it doesn't count!

Canadian Provinces: 2 (British Columbia and Ontario) European Countries: Ireland (4 or 5 counties, I think) Scotland Wales England Italy France Germany Spain Greece Turkey Austria & Switzerland (I've been in the airport and crossed the countries by train, do those count?) Asian countries: Japan Central/South American countries: Ecuador Costa Rica (I leave in less than a month!)
