Having many honeymoons throughout the marriage sounds like a great idea! My FI and I are having a weddingmoon as well in a St. Lucia Sandals resort this summer. ( I about died when we priced our airfare! ) We are HUGE travel fans and plan on many adventures throughout our marriage and we just sat down one night and made a list of all the places around the world we want to see. Our list consists of Mexico (Playa Del Carmen), Tahiti, Jamaica, Africa and many, many more! Good luck with your list! Cynthia

I'd say it definitely depends on each person. Some people like exotic travel others don't. I like Daydreamer's idea of making a list of cool places you want to go and also reasons why. have fun planning your trips together! That's an excellent idea

My future holiday list: Sri Lanka (our honeymoon) - amazing beaches, real jungles, fabulous scenery and views, baby elephants, temples, turtle hatcheries and Ratnapura, City of Gems... Thailand - Great food, floating markets, fab beaches, oh and I'm going to send FI off on the gemstone photography course at AIGS so I can look at more rocks!Madagascar - um more gemstones ![]() Madagascar - um more gemstones ![]() Vietnam, India, South Africa - they have sparkly rocks as well ![]() Basically, he likes places with fun things to photograph and I like places with gemstones, and we both like very spicy food. Neither of us are beach people and I burn so badly that I can't sit in the sun much. Most of Europe we have already done and it's close enough for a long weekend if we want to go.

hmm Sri Lanka sounds unique. Has any one ever been to Bora Bora? i hear the couples resort there is extremely exotic. A hut literally in the water. We definitely want to go to Jerusalem, do the Alaskan cruise (see the northern lights), Hawaii, That is it so far.
Sincerely, |

If you are more into beach/water/relaxing the Maldives is the better choice, if you're more into doing things then head for Sri Lanka - or do both, they're pretty close to each other.

Turks and Caicos hands down! 1. It is tropical and gorgeous, yet you don't experience as much of the poverty as you would in other islands in the Caribbean. I mean, there is poverty, but you don't get approached as much as you would on say Jamaica with people wanting you to buy things/give money. DH and I felt perfectly safe roaming the beaches after dark. 2. It is luxurious and relaxing as all get out. There isn't a lot to do as far as night clubs/casinos, but there is SO much nature and there are tons of excursion options to try out during the day and some at night. We were never without something fun to do or some delicious foods to eat. 3. The people were super friendly to us. There was not one second where we didn't feel welcomed. "The absence of flaw in beauty is itself a flaw." |

Hey Sarah, Hope you're feeling better! I heard St. Lucia is beautiful, and we're considering that too as a honeymoon spot. We also want to hit Alaska for the Northern Lights. We've been to Bermuda at 9 Beaches which has the huts over the water, but not on, with their own little private beaches right next to you. (So cool.) He loves the Bahamas. I think the Florida Keys would be beautiful. We'd like to go to Vienna just to see the canals. I'd like to go to Australia. He wants Japan. We both like London. Hmm...we sound like travel junkies. Sheesh. Okay, I'm stopping while I'm ahead! Lily

We went to Tahiti/Moorea/Bora Bora. It was absolutely my dream honeymoon. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else after months of intense wedding planning. We stayed at the Intercontinental in Tahiti, Sheraton Moorea, and Bora Bora Pearl Resort. The pictures below speaks for itself:![]()

Radiant....how could you do this to me??? Bora Bora is my dream destination. If we could afford it, that's where we'd be going. We're going to the Bahamas which is beautiful too, but BORA BORA is just......*sigh*.

Pandora - my parents recently visited Sri Lanka and they loved it - from the pics it looks amazing. For me my top destination would be the Maldives - i like to relax and not do much on holiday and in my opinion this is the best place to do it. The diving and snorkelling is amazing, the beaches are stunning and the food brilliant. I couldn't get over the fact I was on an ickle island in the middle of the Indian Ocean - it was awesome and am very excited at going back in November! Being able to sunbathe on pure white sands with baby reef sharks coming right up to the waters edge was incredible, you could reach out and touch them which was slighly bizarre but very cool at the same time. Only 181 days to go until I'm back there!!!

I love Mexico. Granted I live in LA, so getting to Los Cabos is a snap and so beautiful. This time We're going to to cancun and stay at the Le Blanc. It's an all inclusive, which isn't my cup of tea, but after reading lots of good reviews, I was sold. Not as exotic as some of the others, but easy and relaxing. Also after blowing my wedding budget, it'll be nice to know everything is already paid for.

I loved how you said, "Most of Europe we've already done..." Lucky girl! I wish all the places in Europe I can't wait to see were a long weekend trip away!!! The UK is definitely on my Top 10 List!!!
