jarbatz Cut Rock Total Posts: 131 Last Post: 8/13/2008 Member Since: 3/12/2008	I am relatively new to this site but am also looking for a cushion and everyone here will tell you that there are no set numbers or rules for cushions. Look on www.goodoldgold.com for info on this cut and for diamonds and then Mark at www.engagementringsdirect.com is known around here as the "cushion king". If you tell him what your budget it and what you want (more square than round or vice versa, some flourescense, etc) he will find you some stones. And his prices are excellent and very competitive! He's sending me pictures of a size stone that I never thought I could afford and I can't wait! Good luck!

Call Mark at ERD and call it a day, it will be MUCH easier than trying to learn all the intricacies of cushion cuts.

Many of us have the antique looking cushions which are Cushion Brilliants, check out BostonJeff's! Pixley has a gorgeous one, and so does scarlet16. Off the top of my head I can't recall who has a modifed cushion brilliant, but if you search for the cushion threads you will find them. Decide which look you prefer and let us know. I'd be happy to see what I can find. No rules with cushions and numbers don't tell you much anyway. By sticking religiously to any given numbers could mean you miss out on the perfect diamond, so keep an open mind and use your vendor's expertise to guide you. I know he typically does he business via phone and internet, does anyone know if he can discuss in person? I live in NY, so it would be worth my while to see the stones he has.

We called him up and told him what we were looking for, and he set out to find it. Then We flew to NYC to see him and GOG. Much easier for you since you are there!
