First, the bad stuff: * DH and his partners felt a serious hit to their business (raw property development) and he needs to find new work! * Our house is going on the sales' market and who knows what WHEN it will sell! * We've been stressed because we cannot find a new home that is inside my son's school district and we thought we'd have to move to another city. * THEN amidst not knowing where we'd live or when DH would find work, last week my husband's dad dies!!! What more can happen? Well, on the bright side, we're signing on a townhouse condo next week and it's located in my son's school busline. Our payments are 1/3 what our mortgage is! Major sigh of relief and a chance at a decent retirement fund! Seriously, this is more than a family can endure.

Things have been in turmoil lately, but as long as the family can keep things together AND our house sells, all will be fine. We can pay our mortgage for about 8 more months, but do we want to ? Keeping my fingers crossed.

I really home your old house sells soon. Offer a buyer's agent bonus. DH does that and it helps get interest. Worse comes to worst try to short sell it (make sure they won't 1099 you). It will give you guys a clean slate.
