I have to thank everyone on this forum for educating me about diamonds and I'm so glad I was able to find this forum in the first place! Otherwise I would have gone with a B&M store and gotten a much lesser stone for a bigger price! So thanks everyone!

First off, I got my ring from ERD and Mark T. was great to work with. He pretty much found exactly what I was looking for without going over my budget and he's a genuinely nice guy! However, he is really busy and I realize he couldn't always be there to hold my hand. But from what I've read from previous postings about ERD was that he was always on top of things and returned calls and emails really fast...but I think their business has just gotten to busy so don't be expecting that. But generally this was a great transaction and I mean we were nervous about buy this online (I'm in Texas), but I knew we could trust him since I've heard so many great things about him on this website, so thanks!

Secondly...ring specs!

Cushion Brilliant
7.00 x 6.68 x 4.29 mm
1.51 carats
Color H
Clarity SI1
Polish: excellent
Symmetry: very good
Fluorescence: faint
Table 66%
Depth 64.2%
Setting: Sophia in platinum
Ring size: 5.25

Lastly...pics! (I don't have great pics...but I tried!

Oh man! You just made my day! Seriously!

It's GORGEOUS!

I am playing the waiting game with my bf. We picked out the stone together and he picked out a pave setting for me...I haven't seen it and won't until he proposes which will likely be this month...I can't wait!

Our stone is a 1.51 rectangular cushion, H VS1.

Seeing yours looking so beautiful gives me hope that mine will turn out well too. It's been so long since we picked it out that I can't even remember what it looks like anymore...ugh!

I don't really know how to use the spiffy emoticons yet, but if I did, I'd be using the one that runs around flailing and screaming, "WOOOOHOOOOO!"  That is such a splendid cushion in a glorious setting.  What a beautiful ring! Congratulations are in order!

The cushion and setting are beautiful!  (I might be a bit biased as it's similar to what I'm getting.  )  Congratulations and wear it in good health!!!

Wwo!  Haha...I'm so excited about your ring that I mis-typed "Wow!" and then I left it misspelled as evidence of how dizzy your ring has made me.

That diamond looks seriously HUGE.  I need to either get a cushion or a new setting b/c my 1.53 carat radiant looks about half the size of yours.  Major diamond envy here!  I'm loving all these cushions!!!

Congrats on your new sparkly.  Enjoy it and post more pictures!

Beautiful setting and stone, perfect! Love that profile...

"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any 'conspiracy theory of history' for a search for 'conspiracies' means a search for motives and an attribution of responsibility for historical misdeeds."

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."
