This is how I spend my Firday nights these days! YEESH! :)

Just when I thought I had narrowed everything down to this setting by WhiteFlash:

http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Diamond-Settings/Diamonds-for-an-Eternity--3-4-_1070.htm#

I saw this one by Ritani:

http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/ritani-jewelry/rings/14QQ1/

They both have the same ct weight in the band. The major visual differences (at least from what i could see) is that the WF band diamonds are in prongs and the Ritani band dimaonds are in "cups" and has spaces in between each diamond. Forgive me for the word choice.

The major WALLET difference is that the WF band costs about 1500 and the Ritani is about 2700. Considerable seeing how the band, diamond and engagement ring through WF was going to be about 6900 and the Ritani with the WF diamond ER would be 6400 and I would still need the matching wedding band and need to pay Ritani to set the stone. I don't have a price on the wedding band yet. I didn't see one on Pearlman's site.

Of these two is the Ritani that much more superior? I haven't seen the WF in person. I have seen the Ritani and i will admit that it is great. But is it that much better? Differences in quality/craftsmanship? What are your thoughts? Are there things about the bands I', missing or pros and cons from personal experience? Thanks in advance for your help. I think I could pull off the Ritani if i had to, but I'd really have to see and if i didn't have to I'd rather even though it seemed to look a little nicer due to the spacing and "cups" the diamonds were in.  But what do i know?

I don't have any advice for you, but just wanted to say I LOVE that Ritani setting! If it were up to me, it would be the Ritani all the way!!!

I've seen and tried on that Ritani in person and I LOVED it, considerd it for myself at one time. I also MUCH prefer the head on the Ritani ring, just not a fan of the stick prongs of the WF setting. I'd call pearlmans for a quote on both the e-ring and band and get them to quote you the set if you send them your diamond purchased elsewhere and then a quote including a diamond purchased from them as well. they sell gia ex/ex and ags000's too although not all the info or diamonds are posted on their site. personally, i think the Ritani would be worth the price difference.

also wanted to add the Ritani is a single prong setting giving it a different look in person compared to a shared prong setting like the WF version.

The head of the WF setting seems easier to clean.
And it's cheaper.

The Ritani is gorgeous but the WF setting is cheaper and they do make it very well I have the same setting so I can honestly say it is very pretty and I love it. The only diff is I got them to put their legato head with this setting instead of the one that comes with it normally it is super pretty and I have to say I get a ton of compliments on it all the time.

Just my 2 cents I hope you pick one you'll love.

I'll have to look at the legato. I definitely liked the ritani. Thanks for the info on the prong settings. But 1300.. Hmmm. My gf prefers the ritani from pics I sent but she doesn't know the cost :) and she thought the wf was nice too.

You need to call Pearlman's and ask the price of the ring. Many of their items are discounted from the posted price if you tell them you are a PriceScope member.  I would ask them this, but I am pretty sure Ritani will set the stone because you are purchasing the setting from them. I don't think there would be an extra setting charge.

I love the Ritani setting and it would be worth the extra cost to me.

~~~ When in doubt...don't.~~~
