My boyf proposed with a plain Tiffany platinum wedding band - the 3mm one. However, it's about a 6.5 and I'm about a 5.5. It's definitely too big - has nearly come off a few times! Can Tiffany size it down, and do they charge for that? He bought it about 2 weeks ago - we're in NY and going in to them tomorrow. Thanks!

You should exchange the ring for the correct size.

Thanks DS. The slight complication is that I have been wearing it, so there are tiny light scratches on it, the way platinum gets a bit scratched. So I don't think they will accept it back - they said on the phone that it must be in a saleable condition for an exchange. I mean, worst case scenario, I suppose I can wear it on the middle finger of my right hand, as the propsal ring, rathe rthan the wedding band!

Hi, Yes, they can resize it down, but I don't know what the cost is. To resize it up is more expensive than resizing it down because they don't have to add any metal to it. If you have the receipt and it is within a year, I am pretty sure they will do it for free. I would just call the NYC store and speak to customer service to make sure. Sometimes you have to leave it there for a few days, but you can request for them to mail it out to you. "Buy what you like to please yourself, not to impress anyone else." |

Interesting, I know they resize the diamond rings for free but you have a good argument for a free resize since you may also be getting the e-ring there too? It may take a week. Speak to a manager if you can. Where are the pics? Is it the knife-edge, lucida?? Inquiring minds......

Ditto lisa, speak to a manager or someone who can authorize a decision, not a salesperson. They should do it for you. I cant imagine that they cant just polish it up and re sell it.
