I promised GemALLogist that I'd finally take some sun photos of my ring, now that I have my own back yard. Well, the sun is in and out today and not that strong, but I'm sick with the PLAGUE and needed to cheer myself up. I swear, though...no matter how good of a camera you have (Nikon D40x DSLR), photos just NEVER capture all the fine details! It's sort of maddening. As I type, my diamond is sparkling away like a little fairy, but none of the 86 pictures I took of it would get it right. But anyway, here's my little photoshoot...

...I was trying my best to capture the fire, but the camera didn't like it and wouldn't shoot until I moved the ring and lost the fire. Stupid ultra sophisticated cameras....yeesh. I'm thinking of going back to the cheapy point-and-shoot.

When the sun went away I came back inside and took a few with diffused lighting...one of my favorites...in my dining room. It's just too bad that the camera didn't want to see the details like I was seeing them.

Oh! Stop the presses! I have a great sunken window sill in my kitchen, and when I took my ring off to do dishes, I noticed it was glowing!! So I took some more pics. NOW THAT is more like what my ring looks like in real life!!!! FINALLYYYY!!!

Hey rube, your ring is beautiful and you did take some very nice shots! I know what you mean about being frustrated by what the camera catches. I can't figure that out either. Outside, my rings sparkle like a mad prism. There are colors flashing everywhere, and yet it doesn't record those beautiful colors. I wish someone could explain that to me too. LOL, the plague is going around. I think it's the annual "change of the season" plague! I hope you feel better soon!

tberube, I don't know if I've ever commented on your ring, but it's just so lovely! It's really perfect on your hand. I love the contrast of the EC with the rounds in the halo. I love ECs! Coatamundi - I actually found that one of the reasons I picked the style I did is because of the contrast between the EC and rounds. Gemgirl - I think I just need to figure out how to use a DSLR camera to take these shots - or buy a different lense (probably what I need to do). Because not a single picture I've ever taken of my ring has shown nearly how fiery this little baby can be!! AmberGretchen - I think I've learned that's the key - take the darn thing OFF your hand before taking pictures...heehee!

I have been looking around here for weeks & your ring is one of my favorites  My boyfriend & I are in the process of looking for my ring & I was wondering if you'd mind sharing what size stone you have? And the measurements? I'm hoping for a ring that fits my finger just the size of this one, I'm a size 6. Again, I love your ring!!

How sweet of you to say, msjewell! Thanks! I wear a size 6.5 ring. I could probably get away with a 6, but I don't like it to feel/look too tight in the summer. But I digress. The diamond is .90ct, and its measurements are 6.46 x 4.88. Best of luck in your search for blingies!!
