I am in the process of deciding between the Flame and Torchiere setting. I recently saw the Torchiere with the accent diamonds, it is an incredible piece of work and I was suprised how subtle the accent diamonds are. However, I am no leaning towards the Flame with the knife edge and no taper. The big question is should i go with or without the accent diamonds??? Any Mark Morrell owners care to chime in, it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would definitely go with the accent diamonds. They are tiny but really add something special to the piece.

I'm not an owner currently, but that's my dream ring (the Torchiere). I DEFINITELY want surprise diamonds for myself, but I think if you do a thread search on this topic, you'll find that the folks on this board are pretty much split down the middle as to whether they prefer surprise diamonds in the head or not. I think the folks who don't want the surprise stones like the fluidity of the head without them, and I love the delicate way they add some sparkle and set the head apart from the rest I've seen.

It's Mark Morrell, so whatever he makes will be gorgeous. I say look at lots of photos of the settings with and without the surprise stones, and figure out which way you lean. Either way, I'm sure you'll be thrilled with it.
