Krissie Ideal Rock Total Posts: 1,018 Last Post: 6/23/2009 Member Since: 6/18/2007	A very dear friend of mine has agreed to shoot some pics of us when we are visiting her in Chicago tomorrow! Of course, the weather is supposed to be really crummy - 40's and rain/snow mixture. But it will be fun and I think we will both really be loose and have fun around her. She usually shoots children, so we figured this is a great opportunity for her to build her portfolio as well! Obviously when we thought about this we assumed April meant we wouldn't have to wear big wooly coats! So, that has thrown a bit of a wrench into our clothing plans. We're both going to wear our long black wool coats and jeans. I'll have on a bright blue sweater underneath, and he's wearing a blue and white checked shirt that he got at BR. We are aiming for super fun and casual for these shots, so I hope the weather cooperates with us! Handbags always fit!

Krissie Ideal Rock Total Posts: 1,018 Last Post: 6/23/2009 Member Since: 6/18/2007	OMG it was a total washout! It was sooooo cold and rainy last weekend that we just didn't get any good outdoor pics. My poor friend was trying really hard to please us, but the reality is that I'm not confident about my appearance when I'm NOT being rained on, so having pics done with wet, tangled hair just wasn't going to make me a happy bunny. Anyway, we did manage to get some decent pics afterward in our hotel lobby - following a nice hot shower, and fresh hair and makeup. Not 100% loving any of the pics, though. I am happy to support my friend in her endeavors to become a pro at this, as I think she has a lot of raw talent. I just don't think she captured great photos of us in the rain and the indoor lighting we were forced to use. Maybe because we're not very photogenic?? Who knows!! In any event, we have our "real" engagement pics with our wedding photographer next weekend, and I am praying NO RAIN! I'm also a little paranoid that those won't turn out very well since I'm not thrilled with these, but he's at least a pro, has a lot more experience, and I'm in love with his portfolio. So, fingers crossed. I've attached the 1 pic I'm comfortable sharing. Note the wet, tangled and windblown hair. Also, the lighting/shadows look really off to me. Bless my dear friend - she really was trying, but just couldn't get mother nature to cooperate! It's just hard for me to like this when I try to look a lot more polished and pulled together on a daily basis! Maybe I am just a control freak! This was taken inside after showering and re-applying makeup. I think it had potential but it just doesn't 100% work! Anyway, introducing Krissie and her gorgeous fiance Really hoping that the pics next weekend work out for us! Handbags always fit!

Sorry your engagement pic session won't be going as planned, Krissie. Not to fear...if you can muster up the strength to go without jackets/coats for 15-20 minutes maybe you can still get some good shots if you find that it's dry out for a little while. I tend to hate the way I look in photos but I've realized that my friends will say, "oh that one's gorgeous" even though I hate it. And then later on, I will realize that it is actually a nice picture. So just post lots and lots!
