I have just bought an Emerald cut diamond that is almost 4 carats.  I am looking for setting ideas.  I want vintage-y deco.  No pave.  Anyone have any good places to look or ideas?  everything is either tapered baguettes or pave.  thanks in advance!

If you have pictures of what you want, I am sure Maytal Hannah would be a good choice for custom.

Try the websight artdecodiamonds.com.

They have estate and new. Maybe they will sell you a setting...

Good luck

Here are some cool ideas from Wink Jones:

http://www.winkjones.com/store/rings.php

Choose the three-stone option on the drop down menu. There are some really simple designs there, and he does some neat stuff with different colors of gold and/or side stones, too (sapphires, etc.).

I also like this Tacori HT 2579 with an EC, but it has a little pave. But I think it is awesome!

Good luck on your search. I wish I had to look for a setting for an almost 4 ct. emerald cut diamond! Poor you!

You should call Leon Mege'.  His work is fabulous.  Top quality and his prices are very competitive.  He is located in the diamond district in NYC.  You might get some ideas from his website www.artofplatinum.com

While Leon specializes in pave'and micropave', he does tons of custom designs with no pave' at all.  He has done so many beautiful settings - including my pave'-free beauty - for many discerning PSers.  If it were me...for a stone that size, and for the investment you have already made, I wouldn't consider doing anything pre-fabricated.

Here is a link to my emerald cut ring http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=60789

There is also a thread dedicated to emerald cut rings.  I think its called "Show Me your emerald cuts" or "show me some emerald cuts".  Do a search for it.  You might find some inspirations in there.

Good luck!
