We've been looking at two engagement rings (okay, I have been.... not so much 'we') and I just can't decide which one I like better. I think my biggest issue is that I really prefer wedding bands that sit flush with the e-ring, and the Natalie K won't allow for that. I really like the Memoire-style single prong eternity, but I think it might be too thin for my big, long size 7 fingers! Plus, the full-eternity thing scares me a little also. So... if you have (or know of!) rings like this or similar, can you show me hand shots? With or without wedding bands... I know there was one a couple of years ago that I dug up in the archives, but it was hard to see. Thanks! This is the Natalie K I was looking at:

Having tried on the memoire wedding band you posted (sorry didn't take pics) I will tell you that even just looking at the pic I think the Natalie K is def prettier. I wasn't impressed at all with the memoire line! I have a friend who wants one of their bands for a wb so I went to check it out bc she was raing about it. I should have know better considering she calls her SI2 diamond "flawless" that she doesn't really know what to look for or what she is talking about. (Note: nothing wrong with SI2, she just doesn't get the difference!) You should really find stores that carry these 2 rings and decide which suites you better. Many things can look fantastic on someone else, but not so great one you. This happened to me with a few designs I liked. Kinda a bummer, but better to know! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ |

Thanks for your opinions! I really appreciate it. I think what I am most concerned about is how a wedding band would sit with the Natalie K. I do like that one better, I'm just not sure what to do about a wedding band.

How big will the center stone be? I ask because I've found that super chunky big eternity band styles like you're choosing sometimes drown out the center stone & it turns into a big sparkly blur. Its natural to want AS MUCH BLING AS POSSIBLE, but at what cost? Have you tried these styles on your hand with the size stone you'll be getting? When the wedding band gets added its another whole dynamic -- more blur. Dunno. Would just suggest you try on your actual hand & make sure it's LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Deco- I think around 1-1.25 cts, though that is not really up to me! The ring is 3mm wide, so it isn't as thick as it seems in the picture. I did try one on that was very similar, though princess cut stones rather than round. I can see what you mean about it becoming just a big blur... and that really isn't what I want. I guess maybe a separate ring that I could wear either without the engagement ring or on the right hand might be the best idea, if I went that route.

I prefer the Natalie K, and I know you want the flush look, but something to keep in mind is that when you actually have your rings your taste could change a lot... I found that mine really did and I have gone from "I hate diamonds" to " I want a thee stone with emerald cuts!" to " I love rounds brilliants!"... as for settings, whoo-boy my mind changes all the time! Point is, you may not mind a non-flush look when you actually have your rings, or you may want a different setting than anything you look at now... there's all sorts of practical issues with wearing rings that you may also think about... anyways, try on as many as you can, but if you are indecisive, then maybe a simple solitaire would be a good move b/c then you can get your dream setting down the line when you figure out what exactly you dream setting is! Just some thoughts, can't wait to see what you end up with! DD *** Dreamer *** |

i like the NK. i do like the memoire bands too but the plain ol' 4 prong head just bugs me have you seen ritani's version? it allows for a wedding band to sit flush..http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/ritani-jewelry/rings/14QQ1/24/ ![]() |

Thanks everyone! I love all of your thoughts! Dreamer- thanks for your suggestions. I have actually been married before, and my old ring was vastly different than what I am looking at now (I had a 1/2 ct. princess cut with channel set princess diamonds on the band and the wedding band) and you are right, tastes do change! The Natalie K is one I seem to have stuck with the most- it's been in my "favorites" file for a couple of years now. My main issue with non-flush rings is that I'm afaid of being pinched by them. Unfortunately, there are not any Natalie K retailers very close to me, but hopefully we can make a trip to Pearlman's sometime soon, as it's about 120 miles from me. mrssalvo- maybe that is what I'm not completely sold on either- while I really like the style of the Memoire, it seems unfinished to me somehow. I was planning to have a jeweler friend of the family custom-make something... so maybe that's something to think about! CWJ- I have seen your pictures, and read your old posts, thanks! I really like how the ring looks, and I like the wedding band you have. Did you end up with the spacer between the two? Do they seem to rub against each other? Thanks again!

Date: 4/6/2008 7:50:29 PM Yes I got the spacer we talked about on that thread. They don't rub each other at all. Only thing is I have short fingers and sometimes think there is to much ring. Nobody else seems to notice that.Author: pinkdreamer Thanks everyone! I love all of your thoughts! Dreamer- thanks for your suggestions. I think it looks fantastic with a 2 ct. stone! But I think a smaller stone might get lost, as someone has already mentioned.
