Hello: just wondering where to get away from the hail, snow and winter like conditions.I am thinking Arizona (Phoenix?)Scodsdale ,Sedona or what do you suggest? Its too cold now and lots of snow we need to get away just for a short weekend. Can't afford expensive get away, but surely there must be something not too far away so we can fly there in 2 or 3 hours.
Can any of you suggest something where its warm now.Hot Springs would be great.Basically just to get away and relax Need some sun and its not coming here..Please help out....

Hello Scarleta, I love Sedona; it is so beautiful and relaxing.  You could fly into PHX and I think it is an hour drive to Sedona; maybe you could pair it w/the Grand Canyon.

Also, I hear that San Diego is having great weather right now.  Also, New Mexico is having nice weather; you could fly into Albuquerque and stay in Santa Fe and Taos and it is totally different with nice shopping, good food and relaxation.

What kind of vacation are you looking for?  Spa?  Beach?  Shopping?  Where are you located so we can help you think up of things close by to you.

eta: sorry about the snow but I bet it is pretty  I also love to watch the travel channel for vacation ideas; that show keeps me hoping on planes

Sounds like you need to look for a resort with a great pool area so you can soak up the sun and warmth outdoors as much as possible!  I'm not very familiar with the southwest but Miss Skippy is an expert!  Good luck and enjoy your weekend getaway, wherever you decide to go.

Thanks Skippy good suggestions here.We fly from Vancouver and about 2 or 3 hours is ok othervise the weekend would not be enough if one must travel for much longer.Just looking for sun, spa and beach. If shopping is around its ok, but not necessary.Nice dinner good food , hot springs for relaxation. Not fussy here just want to get away and relax in sun.We do like San Diego and Palm Springs (have not been there for many years).Would not know where to start.
Skippy no the snow is not pretty now especially that I planted some of my veggies already. If it was December,January yes it would be pretty. Thanks Skippy what else would you suggest?

Monarch yes resort with great pool sounds really good right now.Soaking outdoors sounds even better.
Just waiting for some more ideas here.
so please keep them coming..

Scarleta, Mara is a big fan of Palm Springs, she and her husband go there for little getaways frequently.  Maybe she will see your thread and chime in!  ETA:  I know she has posted pics from recent trips there, maybe you can do a search here for Palm Springs and some of her posts will come up for you in case she doesn't get to this thread in the near future.

You should come visit Santa Barbara--we're having great weather right now!

Come take a sip of this so I can look into your beautiful eyes and say,

Scarleta, I love Santa Barbara so much too; they have wonderful shops on State Street and I think on Sundays they have fun arts and crafts sort of stuff on the beach.  Lots of the stuff they sell is beautiful.  The food is delicious.  Also you can rent bikes and just ride around enjoying the beauty.

I bet Scottsdale is really warm now.

Scarleta, I heard Palm Springs is great for relaxing (I have never been but it does sound super nice)!!  I think there are pictures of Mara's stay in her Who's Who.
