Hi! I post mainly in LIW but am in the process of ordering my ering from ERD. I have 3 cushions that Gary sent me stats on. Honestly, the only part I understand is the color/clarity/carat thing. Once I start reading about tables/girdle I can't quite decide which is best. If I post the stats, could someone give me their opinion- pretty please. I have my setting all but chosen and will also be looking at some Rounds but would love some opinions on the cushions. I so want to get this ring going!!!!
Katie You say you want Diamonds on a ring of gold... When all I want is you ...Bono |

Here are the stats for the 3 diamonds. I have the GIA certificates, too. I would so appreciate some thoughts ![]() #1 1.10 Color-H Clarity-VS2 Cut-Br Depth-68.1% Table-55% Polish-Ex Symmetry-Ex N 6.49 - 5.67 x 3.86 1.14 #2 1.07 G VS2 Br 66.8% 56% Ex Ex N 6.29 - 5.60 x 3.74 1.12 #3 1.00 G VS2 Br 70.4% 52% Ex Ex N 6.15 - 5.54 x 3.90 1.11 Katie |

What are Gary's thoughts on these three or have they been called in for you yet? If you're o.k. with H colored stones, I'm liking #1 the best because it faces up a little bigger than the other two. #2 is ever so slightly less rectangular and has a little less surface area (meaning it faces up just a wee bit smaller than #1). #3 - not loving that 70.4% depth for a 1 carat stone (less spread-y). Can you post the girdle thicknesses for #1 and #2? That's another place that can hide weight (as in, extreeeemely thick girdles = lost spread), but high crowns = good times. If you can, post the facet plots and any pics that you may have.

1ct girdle- thick, faceted 1.07 thick-very th. 1.10 th-very th. these are from the GIA diagrams. I can't figure out how to attach them to the post. He sent me pics today but I just can't tell much from them... I think this would have been easier if I hadn't found PS Oh, these are stones that Gary chose for me.

Hi Katie, Cute avatar, BTW (love your haircut!) The good news is, these are all at ERD. The bad news is, can't really tell what's goin' on from those pics. But don't take it personally, that's just how things are at ERD - their photos are notoriously ridiculous. I know Gary must be swamped right now, and I say this because ERD is finding some fabulous cushions left, right and center, so I still think they have great potential! If they can get you a clearer shot of all of those, head on in the face up position, it would help show off the facet structure a bit more, and will give you a better sense of the subtle size and shape differences. I can detect a tad more warmth in the H than the other two, but that's about all I can see from that photo. See if Gary or Mark can get you something better tomorrow or Monday.

Thanks Pixley for your thoughts! It helps me a lot! I guess I'll see what the round stones look like and then go from there... Katie |

If you are seriously considering a cushion, be guided by Mark or Gary at ERD. They have found countless beautiful cushions for many, they will be in the best position to source and advise you on which cushion would be a good pick.

Should I just ask him to choose which one looks best? I won't be able to see them myself as I live in Dallas. Katie |
