Oh no!!! I just had my 30th birthday, and had $600 to get myself a little goodie. On my shortlist is the yummy WF scattered diamond band. I couldn't afford it platinum, but was quite happy to get it in WG. The 3mm band was $595 the last time I looked (a couple of weeks ago) and now it's $725...

I'm normally an impulsive shopper too, but of course this time I decided to sit on it to make sure I got what I really wanted!

yep, everyone's prices are going up due to the increase in metal prices. no fun at all. hopefully you can save up the difference though and still get the band

I was already stretching my budget a bit before the price went up, with having to pay taxes, duty, shipping to Australia, but now it's probably a no for me

Which one do you want Legacy?

Ohhh, that sucks!  I'm seriously contemplating the same ring for my wb (also in 3mm).  I think as recent as a week ago the price was set at $595.  Darn inflation

An eternity band that matched my ER. The smaller bead set one.

I'm feeling the same way! After wearing my new little sapphire stack band for a week now, hubby and I both decided it takes away from my ering and wband. He didn't say anything all week and finally today, I asked him if he had been thinking that and he admitted he had but didn't want to tell me and plant that seed in my head! So all weekend, I've been looking at the scattered diamond band. I actually started looking at them right after they were made a stock item, and I keep coming back to it b/c I love it so much. But I'm so bummed that the price just went up. I can't afford platinum either so white gold is my only option.

Since this would be a rhr for me, I can't decide if I would get the 3 or 4 mm. I'm now looking at the same ring made by Benchmark. Theirs is beautiful as well and looks very nicely made. They have a lifetime warranty and do free resizing for life.

Anyway, just wanted to chime in about being sad the price had gone up...

I found the Benchmark 4mm .24ct (12 stones, so 2 pts each) in white gold for as low as $519. I'm not sure how many stones the WF one has - looks like 10 in the 3mm band??, so they're 2 pts each as well. I put hubby's wedding band on today (it's too big but I wanted to see what width I'd be good with) and I think his band is 6mm so I think 4mm won't be too wide. My finger on that hand is a 5.5 I believe.

I would need a size 6, so 4 mm would probably be fine for me too. But I really had my heart set on the 3mm.

If you get the one from Benchmark, let me know how you go! It's certainly a great price, and the lifetime warranty and free sizing makes it even better.

I just found this band from a link Cinnamon013 posted in another thread http://http://www.e-weddingbands.com/store/product994.html

There are some differences between the WF band and this one (i.e. clarity, width, diamond holes), but it may be worth considering because of the lower price.

prettyblues, I saw lots of 3mm bands when I was looking around online. Benchmark makes them and so does Artcarved (they make a gorgeous one called Jessica) but those had the diamonds going straight across the band, not staggered up and down and I really want the staggered look.

hi prettyblues, I just ordered the band from Sea of Diamonds. It'll be probably at least 8 or so days before I get it though. They have to get it from Benchmark and then send it to me (they are in CA and I'm in NC). They said on their site that they do price matching so I called and talked to the manager today and I pointed him to the same ring on another site. The other site had it priced at $519 and Sea of Diamonds had it at $640. He matched the price. Free shipping and 30 day return policy if I don't like it when I get it. Benchmark warranties their rings for life. If your finger size goes up or down (ever), you send the ring back and they give you a NEW one for free (since this ring can't be sized due to the diamonds going all the way around). So I'll let you know what I think of it when it arrives!

Hi Katie, thanks for that! I am really interested to know what you think when you get it. I'm sure you will post plenty of pics though

I wonder if they ship internationally? I'll have to look into that as well (currently in Australia).

Pocahontas, thanks for your suggestion as well Unfortunately that one is also a 4mm width, and I really am hoping to find a 3mm one! But it might be good for someone else that's not as picky as me

ETA: Ok, so I just realised the Benchmark ring is ALSO 4mm wide. So I will have to just suck it up and get a bigger ring, or pay more!

Pretty band!  I like how the diamonds go all the way around the ring.  Does WF's do that?
It says that the diamonds are SI1 so I wonder how clean they are.

Their site says they ship internationally. The guy I talked to (Fred) was extremely nice and helpful. I went by the mall and tried on several 4mm wedding bands today to make sure I didn't think it would be too wide. It looked nice and with that width, the diamonds can be staggered/scattered nicely. Here is the one I ordered: http://www.seaofdiamonds.com/item.asp?invky=6995812&prodnav=3&catky=8529626&subcatky1=1496851 And you know I'll post lots of photos!

Thanks for the link Katie, it does look very nice on the website. Can you let me know which site/store had it for $519, so if I order I can also price match?

Hope it's ok to post this... if not, I apologize.  I found it for $519 at www.titaniumkay.com
Just fyi on the mm width, I have relatively small fingers and I noticed very little difference in a 3mm and a 4mm band. But I don't plan to wear it with anything else, so I don't mind the extra mm in width. Let us know if you get it!! We'd be ring twins!

Thanks for that Katie! I'm still thinking about it as I was planning to possibly wear it with other things. I will have to do the same as you and go and try on a 4mm band to see what I think.

I will definitely let you know if I get one - for now I'm just waiting to see pics of yours

Guess what ladies.... I was just on the WF site and it looks like they've gone back to their $595 price for the white gold 3mm scattered diamond band!!!!!!!!!
How cool is that?

Now I get to wait for my Benchmark one to come and decide if I like it or the WF one better. Darn, I would probably have ordered it from WF to begin with if I'd known it would be $595!

Oh well, now everyone can go there and order their bands!

Yes, I noticed that yesterday as well!

I will be buying mine very soon I think. Katie, is it a big hassle to return the other one?

Also, Legacy, has your band come back down in price? That would be great news too!

Does this mean that all we have to do is moan about high prices on WF and they lower the price??

Here goes: Ohhhh, I am so sad at the price increase on the diamonds for an eternity band... any one else sad too?

DD

PS: Do you think they are listening? I sure hope so...

Yipee I bet there will be rush of people ordering the band over the next couple of days in fear of another price increase - lol! Prettyblues, can I count you in?

Katie - thanks for the update! I can't wait to see your Benchmark band - please post pics when you get it. I'm sure it'll be very beautiful - let us know what you think.

DD - yep, I'm also really upset about the price increase in WF's eternity bands (hehe).

I noticed that it went back down, too! I'm glad-$130 is a huge increase on something like that! Especially when there are so many other options around! Good work, Whiteflash!

Now, if only the 2 carat ACAs were cheaper...

I don't think it will be hard to return if I need to. They have a no-questions-asked 30 day return policy so if I needed or wanted to return it, I'm sure I could. But then I'd have to wait for the credit and then order from WF (if they still had it at the lower price) and wait for that one! If anyone get the WF one, please post how long it takes to get it, etc.
