Where can I go to sell a Christopher Designs ring?  It is the emerald crisscut 1.5 center with 1.44 side emeralds.  It is style # 97CEC150 on his website.  I have had it less than 2 years.  It retailed for $32k.  Where is the best place to sell it, and what price should I expect to get?

I'd consign it with Pearlmans. They take 15% of the agreed upon price and they will help you determine what that should be and what is fair. I've consigned 2 rings with them and all went very smoothly.

Thanks for the reply!  Let me ask you, did you do this online and through the mail?  I was hoping to find a place I could actually walk into.  I was hoping somewhere around the Bay Area, San Francisco, CA.  I am very skeptical to do this online!

yes, i shipped my pieces to pearlmans and they took care of the rest. the insure the pieces while it's in their care. I liked it because locally there just isn't a great jewelry market here and pearlman's site is international making the items available to folks looking all over the world. Plus, the few jewelers I looked into all wanted 50% vs. the 15% that pearlmans takes.

you might have better luck in the bay area. i would check the resource page here for bay area jewelers and start calling them to see who will take the ring on consignment or what they would offer to buy it from you. you might also check with the jeweler you bought the ring from. I would at least call pearlmans though because end up being able to get back more of your $ that way.

Ditto the Pearlmans, but if you really want local, maybe check with Lang's in SF (just off Union Square)  I don't know if they do consignments, but they might...
