luvmyhalo Ideal Rock Total Posts: 1,037 Last Post: 8/11/2009 Member Since: 12/4/2007	I have a 14k white gold knife edge solitaire and matching band. I've only had it for a month and have noticed a couple of dings and scratches on the "edge" part of both bands. I don't work with my hands or anything. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if this is normal for the knife edge style. Thanks for reading!!!

You know how you get all those little scratches underneath the outer door handle of your car? And really, who puts their key or their nails under there? Nobody, right? It just happens and we dont even know why...Same thing with your ring. You can be careful as can be and you're still going to see tiny dings and scratches.

Since I got it it's been worn 4 times in total, about 3 weeks at a time. The band is scratched/dinged and I'm thinking it's just a matter of time before it bends as well. I don't think there's any way of avoiding it. Like surfgirl said, you can be as careful as can be and you're still going to get dings and scratches. elle

kcoursolle Ideal Rock Total Posts: 10,344 Last Post: 10/14/2009 Member Since: 1/21/2006	I have a knife edge setting and this happens to the bottom of the setting on the edge part of mine as well and I haven't even owned it long yet. It's totally normal for rings to get scratched and they should come out with a polishing job from the jewelers.
