I have gotten tons of help here and I just wanted to say thank you and tell about my wedding ring shopping experience.  We live in a rural area so we have a bit of a drive to any jewelry stores, so we do a lot online.  Ering from blue nile.  Anyway yesterday we went to the big city and went to a mall.  After shopping online I was amazed at how high the prices of wedding bands are.  Yikes!  I'm looking at channel set anniversary bands 9-11 stones.  I like the bands that are approx. 1/2 carat.  Anyway I just found a comparable ring on Whiteflash for $790.  The rings I was trying on yesterday were near $2000 and for crappy color and clarity.  My ering is gorgeous quality and it made these bands look quite yellow and cloudy.  Now that I've gotten more educated thru this site I think Blue Nile is overpriced.  The same ring there was $1550.  I do think Blue Nile has good quality but I'm thrilled to find Whiteflash with a lower price and better quality.

Thanks for listening.  And thanks for all the help.

Glad you found PS, and the world of better priced, prettier diamonds!

You should do a thread in SMT (unless you did and I missed it!).

"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any 'conspiracy theory of history' for a search for 'conspiracies' means a search for motives and an attribution of responsibility for historical misdeeds."

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Laurie - I couldn't believe that a similar band on Blue Nile would be nearly twice as expensive as Whiteflash.

I have found a $790 eternity on Whiteflash 0.4 ct set in white gold WF Link, and a half carat channel set eternity on Blue Nile set in platinum for $1550 BN Link.  One could argue that the differences in carat size and metal accounts for the price difference.

Just a caution to be sure you are comparing apples to apples before stating one company is overpriced.
