Hi,

I saw this on JTV. It was yellow, described as "Spodumene," with nothing else said about it. In my gemstone book, Spodumene is Hiddenite (yellow) or Kunzite (pink).

Is Teradora a legit stone or just 'nother JTV invention?

Thanks
Ger

I believe it is a Trade name for Triphane which is yellowish Spodumene as compared to Kunzite or Hiddenite ( which is the green variety from Alexander co., NC )Heating has been used to intensify color in spodumene, but is bad at fading over a period of years. Triphane or Terador according to the mineral databases is usually not a desireable gemstone, but more a collector specimen. here is an ebay review on the subject. Hope this helps.

Hi, I’m new here and don't know all the in's and out's of this blog.

I saw "Teradora" on JTV today and went to all of my mineralogy books and web sites as well and some gemstone databases.  NO "Teradora".  So I called JTV and asked if this was a trademarked name.  The woman hummed and hawed for a while and finally said all she could find was that it is a yellow Spodumene.

The guy who was selling it said something like "green is Hiddenite, pink is Kunzite and yellow is Teradora like everyone should know this.  This has to be something  JTV made up.  Which by the way is nothing new to JTV.
