Hello everyone. I've been lurking around this site for a while, and finally decided to make an account so that I could actually use your expertise =). The truth is that I've looked at hundreds of settings and i have yet to find one that I love. What I'm looking for is a Halo setting with prongs. I want the diamond set kinda high above the halo, but not too high, so you could see the stone. And not too bulky, so I want it kind of open below the halo. I hope i'm explaining it right =). I need all the help I can get. So all pictures are welcome. Maybe you've seen something like this on a website. Or any personal pictures are great. Thanks in advance for all your help =). The stone my bf is looking at is around 1.5ct, and i need to give him a setting my Mon, Tues at the latest, so as you can tell i'm scrambling to find one. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

check out the AMAZING setting on page 113 of "showe mw the ring"; pictures 15 and 16!!

Hopefully this is the link

http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=5429&pageNo=113

I completely love this setting, and AI think it might be what you are looking for.  Simon G may also have somewhat like you want...check out that site.

OOPS...Sorry, the one I really meant to show you is this one:  Page 101;5th picture showing.  This one is amazing!!

Hopefully this page:

Its for sure a "WOW" ring.  You will have to search K&L to find out more - is this what you want?

I'll tell you, having it set up much higher is just going to mean it will get hit on things more often. Plus it would mean having these really tall prongs!  I hope you might reconsider having the stone set really high!

I'm going to try to post the side view of the WG setting to show you that the stone is really set as high as it could and still be safe:

Here's mine, prong set halo, set slightly above the halo itself.  I agree with Diamondseeker - having the stone sit higher is just inviting trouble, methinks .

I think that setting is very lovely...Its pricey, but if you dont mind spending that on the setting alone and you love it, I say go for it!!!

we have a family friend who is a jeweler, so he will only charge us for the material, not the work. so it should come out okay i hope, because i think my heart is set on this one =)

The Durnell is beautiful! If the jeweler can do that kind of quality, you will be very lucky indeed!

How stunning is angeline's Maytal Hannah double claw prong halo?! I just saw this in SMTR and this is the second post I'm pasting it in. It's gorgeous!
