Alright, how many of you ladies took or plan on taking your engagement/wedding ring or both on your honeymoon?

I was thinking i would wear my band on my honeymoon but leave my engagement ring. I know i have insurance for a reason but it seems awful risky, especially since we are planning on going someplace tropical and spending alot of time in the water.

My FI's best friend went to hawaii and lost his wedding band in the ocean =( I would hate for that to happen to me!

Also, FI and I are going on a cruise next week to mexico, any thoughts on wether or not I should leave my engagement ring at home? Any of you take your lovelies on a cruise???

I would probably take mine, but that's only because it's not very big and I basically don't ever take it off unless I'm cleaning it. Once we're married, my wedding band is going to be plain platinum, no stones, and it's not coming off unless medically necessary, so I'd take that too. It either ring was blingy, big, or expensive, I'd leave it at home but wear some sort of placeholder ring with little monetary or sentimental value, since my finger feels terribly naked without a ring.

I took my rings on my honeymoon, and they were just fine. We traveled to Turks and Caicos, so we spend a good deal of time on the beach and in the ocean. If I planned on being in the pool or the ocean, I simply left my rings in the in room safe. It was a pretty nice safe, and we could change the pass code every time we closed it. Of course, I know good and well that there is someone on the resort who can get into all of the safes, but I was willing to risk leaving it there. Plus, it could just as easily be stolen if it were left at home and somebody broke into the house. Most of the places we went on the island were pretty nice, so I didn't mind wearing it around the island (of course, there were many rocks much larger than mine where we were, so I don't think mine really stood out). If we were going to Mexico or Jamaica, I probably would have left it at home.

I dunno, the way I see it, anything can happen no matter where you are. Just do whatever gives you the most peace of mind. (And be sure to get bling insurance!)

I took my rings.  We knew the hotel had a safe in the room and when we hit the beach I just locked 'em up.  If you know where you'll be staying, call and ask if they have safes in their rooms or security box on the premises made available to guests.

I always bring my rings when I travel...my DH didn't buy them for me to leave at home.  I always figure, we have insurance and I'm not the type of person to go out of my way to put my ring is a sticky situation.  I hide it really well if I am swimming...and otherwise, its wear as usual.
