Is a 1.45 ct. spinel too small for a pendant?

I just purchased and received a 1.45 ct (6.20 mm x 7.30 mm, with a depth of 3.90 mm) lighter pink cushion spinel.  It's really pretty.  I never had a spinel before and you all love them and now I see why.

But now I have to figure out what to do with it.  Leaning more toward a pendant, I think.  (But, a  ring might be o.k., too. Oh, I don't know what to do with it.)  Is it too small for a pendant?

White or yellow gold?  I think it has a touch of orange in it, so should I avoid the yellow gold in order to minimize the orange in the stone?

Thanks.

I would do a pendant in that size, unless you want to halo it for a ring. I'd do white gold, personally.

I am glad you have joined the spinel lovers club.  They are gorgeous!  I think it would be the perfect size for a pendant and I also vote for white gold.  I can't wait to see it.

It sounds beautiful. I also vote for a pendant in white gold. Please most pictures when you decide what you will do.

How about rose gold?

Thanks all.  Still undecided (rose is a nice suggestion and I have nothing in rose).  I'd love to halo it but can't quite make sense of a more expensive setting with a not-expensive stone.

Will ask my jeweler for ideas when I go there, also.

Thanks again for the input.  You all amaze me with what you come up with, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

Linda, your avitar is gorgeous. I always stare at it.    Is that called pink with orange undertones?

I think that size is perfect for a delicate pendant. I have a sapphire pendant .. I think it's about a carat, more or less .. and I get compliments on it all the time, but I think it would be too tiny for a ring. Can't wait to see what you decide to do with it!
