Hey everyone,

I recently found an asscher that fit my price range and am attempting to evaluate it for an engagement ring. Can anyone give any advice as to what they think?

Here are the details:
1.74ct GIA cert.
D color
SI2 (white feather in corner - was told it would be covered by prong)
58% table
68% depth
VG cut
VG polish
G symmetry

I took simple photo of it and posted it here, but if you want me to do any specific shots of it, let me know and I'll try to get it. Keep in mind, that I am not looking for absolute quality of a VS1 or VS2, but am glad that this SI2 is in the corner and out of the table. The things I know my gf will focus on is mainly the fire and size. One question I have is: Are inclusions a concern with structural integrity?

Any advice or criticisms is welcomed.

Whats the l/w?
close up of the inclusion?
Sure you can put it near a prong but its still going to be visible and may be visible when the stone is tilted from the table.
Why did it get a G in sym?

The picture sux cant tell a thing from it....
woops just saw that you took the photo...lol
put it between your fingers and snap a shot.

The dimensions are 6.74x6.73x4.55mm

Sorry about the photo quality. I don't have a better photo of it since I personally have the stone until I decide what to do. I can take a different photo of it myself, but am not sure what lighting provides you the best view.

Here is the inclusion snippet I cut from the GIA cert. I hope that helps.

If you want too put the stone between your fingers(sitting in the V between your fingers) and snap a shot in fluorescent lighting.

as far as the inclusion goes you can see how visible you think it is from all angles but don't count on the prong hiding it if its very obvious lose.
Some people don't mind small visible inclusions or even large ones so that is something you will have too decide.

looks like it could very well be a nice asscher cut wise.
Are the patterns consitant and line up? pleasing too you?

If you want too try another shot put the diamond between your ring and middle finger with your palm facing down and shoot it in the same lighting. (the diamond will be on the back of your fingers not the tips)

can see enough between the pics too say its well cut, the shadow from the camera and tilt makes it look kinda yucky but I can look around that.
I bet it looks a lot better in person.
Talk to ya laters.....

I know you are off to bed...so thanks for staying up and dealing with this. :)

Glad to hear you think it might be a decent cut as well. It really is hard for me to judge since I've only seen about 8 other options, but never at once. I can only tell when it is something truly impressive but much higher $$$.

Thanks again storm..

It's a surprisingly pretty asscher. Get the right prongs on that puppy and it would be lovely. The patterns look much nicer than that "good" for symmetry lead on. And it looks nice and bright. I like it, from the pics you've shown. How does it look to you?

I think it's a beauty, but what do think? You've seen eight asschers which is six or seven more than most of us?
