This reminded me of your 888 and 101010 designs. It's nearly 666.

Octagonal step cut sapphire

The images are intriguing, but the video is underwhelming, you can see a lot of "space" inside the stone from oblique angles. Pretty though.

p3 angle is too shallow which is why they turned it sideways in the pic too hide the huge window.
I really like that cut when done right.
Its one of the cuts im considering for a custom sapphire I want cut someday in med. blue.
What is neat about the cut is it will lighten the material if cut right so can be cut with cheaper over dark rough and get great color.

Ha! I did wonder why it was shot so that you never see its face. It's interesting that that cut shows lighter than the rough. Would that make this an interesting cut for red-flash amethyst?

4 peaks material wouldnt work in that cut because of the color zoning from the side but some of the other red flash material might if it can be found but it wouldnt be the best because of the dark tone.

wanted to clarify dark tone purple is like ink blackish blue in that other than a window not much will lighten it.
Where non-inky dark blues can be brought back with careful cutting.
