Hi All, I plan to buy a loose diamond online and I'm looking for a trustworthy, professional appraiser near San Jose, CA. Any recommendations? Does the appraiser verify the GIA certificate? Do they verify the weight, cut, clarity, etc, or do I need to go to someone else? How long does an appraiser take? -FateNdestinee ![]()

we used Nancy Stacy. she's in Walnut Creek so it's not SJ but she's great. there really aren't that many independent appraisers around here unfortunately. you can google Nancy Stacy and find her website and phone/email. she books out a few weeks in advance. our appraisal with her took about 1-2 hours. she verifies the cert to the stone and then looks at the stone, takes pictures, takes idealscope photos, magnifies it...and will answer whatever Q's you have.
