My five year anniversary is coming up, and I'm looking for an anniversary band in the $500-600 range. I've found a few that I'm interested in: OGI ltd. Diamond and ruby band .25ct ruby, .15ct diamond: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KDZTB2/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2JZ4M42D1MX14&colid=1H94P5E5S67K0 Available via amazon for $565 in size 5.25 only (I need a 6.5). I don't know how wide it is, I'm waiting on a response to my email. Strangely I found the same ring on their main website (egemstore.com) for $775, so I emailed them to ask if I could get my size for the $565 price and got a "no" answer. So I'd have to size it. Does anyone know if it would be a problem to size this ring? Gems-is-me diamond pave band .5ct (4mm wide, $635): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MOVV6G/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=IPPX2TD7R4DRR&colid=1H94P5E5S67K0 I'll likely be wearing this on my right ring finger by itself. Any input or other ideas? |

Date: 2/20/2008 4:49:35 PM What does your e-ring/wedding band look like? Are you set on using amazon? I think you could get a pretty ring (with more detailed info listed) with that budget from somewhere else. Out of the 2 you posted I like the 1st one better, and if the stones don't go all the way around it most likely can be sized (since it's only 1 size up).Author:slmulkey My five year anniversary is coming up, and I'm looking for an anniversary band in the $500-600 range. Here's a link to a photo of my engagement ring: http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=3963 It's from like 5 years ago :) I'm surprised that my account wasn't cancelled for inactivity, and that I actually remembered my password for this site. The band isn't in the pic, but its just a plain 2mm 14k yellow gold band. Anyway, this ring will likely be on my right hand, so it doesn't really need to go with my wedding set. I would consider switching my engagement ring to my right hand, and wearing the anniversary ring with my wedding band, but my engagement ring is tension set so it can't really be sized. And no, it definitley doesn't need to come from amazon, that's just where I start shopping for just about everything. I think that OGI ltd has a good reputation, but I know nothing about "gems-is-me". It's doesn't need to be super high quality 'cause for with my budget, I'd probably end up with a 1/4 ct pave ring. Would much rather have a medium quailty 1/3-1/2 ct. As long as its SI or better and not a thin flimsy setting, and I'll be happy. Must be yellow gold though as I'm super pale and white gold looks weird on me. |

Any input or other ideas? After looking at the first band from OGI closely, I'd have to say it is the same one I've got in white gold. It is really thin -- less than 2mm. I took to wearing it on the finger next to my wedding set when I wore it because it got kinda lost amidst the other bling. So, you would want to be sure that your wedding set would not overwhelm this ring if you wanted to wear them together on the same finger. However, if you want to stack some bands together, this ring is a very nice choice. Only problem with sizing would be to find someone who will put the milgraining back like it was after the sizing. It goes all the way around the band. _____________________________ |

Thanks for the info, I think I'd like something bigger than 2mm since I don't have anything to stack it with. 3-4 mm would probably be best. Any opinions on what websites I should check out? There are so many of them online and I don't know what is good. Looking for affordable, but not crap quaility. |

Maybe you already said and I missed it, but are you looking for colored stones and diamonds, specifically rubies?

Have you checks Facets? They have a lot of eternity-type bands. Check out the maternity bands if you like pink or blue sapphires. Everyone who has gotten something from Facets has been very pleased. It looks like their prices have gone up, though. You might have to spend a little more. Check out Whiteflash for their flexible Zydo rings. Another idea is a diamond pendant. Whiteflash has Ready-Set-Go white gold pendants for $473 with .25 ct. ideal cut stone. All their pendants are pretty.

Thank you for eveyones ideas. I heard back regarding the ruby and diamond OGI ltd ring and it is 2.75, which is wider than what I thought, so that's good. I also found this ring which I think is quite nice: http://www.e-weddingbands.com/store/product839.html It only comes in whole sizes though and I need a 6.5, so it would need to be sized...again, I'm not sure how difficult this would be for this ring. I would love to find a five stone ruby and diamond ring of around .5 ct, or a .5ct pave half dome diamond pave ring but I think its out of my price range. |

Facets has yellow gold eternity bands with colored stones. The diamond and ruby one is $1400. The yellow gold eternity with pink sapphires is $415. I love the rose gold with pink sapphires too! But I don't think they do yellow gold and all diamonds. Pearlmans has a gold and diamond in a 6 1/4 and could probably be sized. Closeout jewelry. The Serendipity diamond band is very pretty!

Are you going to wear it with your ering and do the rubies have any significance?

Well, I couldn't decide which ring to get, so I sent my hubby links to four different rings and to choose one. So he's bought it now, but won't tell me which one! Now I have to wait ![]() He did say that they were all nice, but one was obviously better than the others. These are the rings he selected from: Diamond and sapphire eternity band: http://www.diamond.com/customer/product_detail.jsp?product=204978235 |

Yeah! I got the ring today. DH choose the last one on the list (channel set 1/2 ct. diamond band). I love it, and the quaility looks really good. Diamonds are H, SI2 and I don't see any inclusions in them. It also came with a small box of godiva chocolate which I thought was a nice touch. And my 2 year old is having a good time playing with my ring box :) I'll post pics later. Its also making me want to get my 5 year old engagement ring/wedding band polished. I forgot how shiny gold looks when it doesn't have scratches on it. |

I've attached a pic of the ring. Its a nice size by itself, but I could also see stacking a small band or two with it on future anniversaries.![]() |
