Chrono Ideal Rock Total Posts: 11,338 Last Post: 11/24/2009 Member Since: 4/22/2004	There's nothing wrong with portugese cuts on coloured gemstones. I like them for larger pieces (makes for more interesting facet patterns) and darker stones (extra facets seem to help with getting more brilliance and brightness).
