Hi Ladies,

Does anyone know who makes this gown or one similar to it?

Any other views would be much appreciated, also.

Thanks in advance for your time!

cara is right, i'm pretty sure it is a maggie sottero from the sottero and midgley line....although it isn't showing up on the site.

Hi MINIMS,    You crack me up!

Hee hee...who said I was ONLY on dress number 4???

Actually, no one likes the other dresses...they think I am being way too cheap by buying a dress that will just "work" because it was inexpensive and it's only for one day.   They don't think any of them fit well OR look like something I would wear to look my best, and I have to agree with them now that they pointed all of the things wrong with the one I thought I was settled on.  I've still barely spent over $100-$200 or so on them and am currently selling all but the one I thought was it, and I've already made back more than I spent, so money isn't being wasted, at least, just a lot of time and frustration on my end...I have no patience, I'm afraid!!!

My friends and family think I need to have a dress that actually shows my figure off a bit better...they all say I'm the skinniest chick they know, so I'd better work it while I've still got it!    (I guess they think my body will go to pot after I get married???)

So, I have been trying to piece together some ideas of what I normally wear that makes me feel the best, which I think would either be a sweetheart or split-front neckline (maybe a halter, but not my first choice) for my 32 double-dollies, a very fitted natural waist (mines about 24 inches and A-lines make me look preggo for some reason) and a straight or very lightly flared skirt (about 33 in. hips) but not a mermaid shape.  Since we'll be in Maui, I think a very short or no train would work best, and I just don't know how a lot of detailing would work on my small frame...I'm about 5'3".

So, this is about the closest picture of a dress I could find to what I *think* might look best on me, but I can't find it to then go try on in person to see if I'm anywhere near on target.  We are 6 months out from the wedding today, and I know I'm running out of time if I somehow manage to find one I want to order.  I just want to be done with it all, and I know I'll feel better if I KNOW the dress I'm going to wear that day is just smashing!  I don't know where to find *THE* dress to accomplish that, though, as my visit to the local bridal megamall on Saturday was a disaster, and I've seen nothing I think would look good on me at David's Bridal.

I was hoping for some other dress ideas or suggestions from the gals on here, but I haven't seen another like this anywhere else, so I'm kind of at a loss and I guess everyone else here is, too.

Back to the drawing board I go, but any dress ideas or suggestions are very welcome!  Thanks!

Harleigh

I KNOW it's a DISNEY gown. And it's an Ariel collection one. But I have a friend who is built very similarly to you and a few styles look really great on here. That's one of them.

These BM gowns are perfect for an island wedding and for someone who wants a deal. They come in ivory and white.

Hi Gypsy,

Thanks for all of the great ideas!

Did you mean that the dress picture I posted is a Disney gown?  The gal turns out to be a Maggie Sottero model, so I've been looking there, but if it's Disney, that could be why I'm not finding anything!

From the links, I really like the first, fifth and last dresses you listed...those are much more of the silhouettes I was thinking of with coverage for the girls and a fitted waist.  Now I just need to find a store near me that carries Jasmine Bridal...woohoo!

Thanks for taking the time out to help!

P.S.  I found the wedding stuff my friend's mom gave me, so I will post in your location thread about the place in the Bay Area I was talking about a few weeks back.

No Honey the first dress I posted is a Disney dress. I'll look into the designer of the gown you've posted, but it's not ringing any bells for me.

Jasmine Bridesmaids is what you want specifically. Right by me in Fremont is a huge bridemaids only store. Except for the disney gown, All the other's are all B2, Belsoie and Jade. All the BM lines that Jasmine carries. The B2s are really affordable, I don't know about the other, but generally the line isn't very expensive. My BM is considering one of these as her gown for my wedding.

Another piece of advice. So to a nice higher end salon and try EVERYTHING on. You may be surprised what looks best on you.

http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?showAll=1&pageSize=8&style=J1041  Maggie Sottero Benita is the gown you wanted. Here's the link.

Saw this and thought of you Harleigh!

I have to say, I have big tots too   I was just certain that I needed "coverage" (halter, straps, something) I tried on all different styles and the thing that looked the best was strapless... go figure. You never know til you try it on.... and if you fall in love with something out of your price range.... no fear! You are the queen of ebay right? Good Luck and let us know how it turns out!

Hi Neveah,

You're always so sweet!  Thanks so much for thinking of me!  That is a lovely gown, but I still am not sure about the strapless aspect.  Maybe a sweetheart or split-front neckline would work in strapless on me, but I have two ebay cheapos that go straight across my chest and it makes my girls look even bigger than that already are!  l really like the flow of that dress, too...it's really pretty!

I would love to get some more ideas of what everyone thinks *might* look good on me, so thank you for sharing!

I am going on Tuesday to try some dresses on, then of course I will search anything I find out on ebay!

You can read about my experience trying to call around to find the MS dress above HERe...I just posted about it moments before I saw your new post, but it might give you a chuckle!
