I'm in the market and have been looking around online (and lurking on this site :) I would prefer to spend no more than $2000. Round Brilliant .7 - 1.0 ctw, 4 prong basket set in white gold (or platinum)

I found some on KOJ. Not sure if the price is fair or realistic... would you buy and if so which ones

Cut Clarity Color Size
Excellent VS2 F 1.1 ctw approx $2K
Excellent VS2 H-I 0.8 ctw approx $1k
Very Good VS2 H-I 1.04 ctw approx 1.5K

Any other recommendations? Warnings

TIA

Welcome!

I would recommend you take a look at www.whiteflash.com and check out their Ready set to Go earrings.  These are preset with excellently cut diamonds, which takes the guesswork out of matching stones.  The only thing is that these earrings aren't upgradable, but they might be well worth considering.

Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on because an enormous part of his owner's heart, soul, very existence dies also...but that can never be laid to rest, it is not meant to be...

I'm not sure what this stands for, I've never heard that. So I don't know how well cut their diamonds really are. Their prices seem rather inexpensive, I'd be skeptical of their quality....One thing is certain, the best cut diamonds will sparkle like mad no matter what the size, and face up quite white in the near colorless range. They will cost more, but they are definitely worth it.

So I would suggest shopping where you know quality is of the highest, to assure you get some great studs. Lorelei made a great suggestion. However, as she said, if you wanted to go bigger in the future (they have a lifetime upgeade policy), the RSTG aren't upgradable.

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Thanks for the input Lorelei and Ellen,

KOJ is King of Jewelry... I have heard good things about them and they get an A+ BBB report. Until coming to this forum I had never heard of whiteflash. I'll have to check them out more.

You have gotten good advice.  Also, GOG (Good Old Gold) has ready-set-go studs, too, but theirs are actually totally upgradeable, which I think is a most awesome perk.

This could come in handy as DSS (Diamond Shrinkage Syndrome) sets in quickly around here!!!

And THAT'S my story and I'm sticking to it!
