i have been searching for a pear shaped stone in many stores and narrowed my criteria down pretty specifically. I am still looking and dealing with a few vendors but I came across a stone on this website that fits all my criteria and is at a really great price! Its GIA certified and I have the same return policy as whiteflash. Has anyone had any experience with purchasing from this site? Or if not, what about even purchasing an engagement stone in general online? Thanks

If you do a search you will be able to read about other's experiences with Abazias.  I haven't purchased from them, but it is my belief that they are a good and reputable vendor.

Also most people that come here are looking to buy and engagement ring online or have done so, if you read in the Rocky Talk forum, you will be able to read about other's e-ring and diamond buying processes.

Don't quote me on this but I don't think Abazias has the capability to do Idealscope and ASET on diamonds for their customers, which is more critical on fancies like pears.  If the stone is a virtual stone, I'd rather have WF, JA, GOG or someone else who can run those tests for me.  You cannot judge a pear just by the numbers on the cert.  That said, Abazias is a very reptuable online dealer from what I have observed during my time here on PS.

Have not actually purchased from them - did interact with them earlier on in our original stone search and thought they were very nice.  At that time they could not offer an IS (of a RB), or an ASET which would be helpful buying a Pear with since it is over the internet.  The return period is 10 days which may be pushing it IMO (if you need to receive it, schedule an appraisal, and then get it back to them if needed), without at least having had cursory info that makes you think the chances you would keep it are higher than purchasing it blindly based on #s alone.  However they may let you have it shipped to an appraiser where you go there to view the diamond in person and get it appraised there (of course you would still have the appraisal fee), and the period may thus be longer if you do it that way since they would ship directly to the appraiser and not to you.  Worth at least checking into.
