Jewelry trade shows are full of vendors and customers who struggle mightily to speak and communicate in English with customers who walk past their booths. You sort of get used to the global nature of the jewelry business and the sound of merchants with many differing accents and pronunciation problems. Given a chance these guys show a lot of creativity behind the scenes. I always get a kick out of going past a booth where a merchant hawking his product invites me to examine his invisble set jewelry. You may ask, "What's the point of stopping to look if it is invisible?" Of course, there the jewelry is, sitting under the spotlights as clear as day, and not at all invisible. One more guy just selling more invisbly set jewelry, and not truly the kings new clothes that can't be seen. Sort of sad not to find something truly unique, but a little smile, a polite thanks. and on we go down the row of booths to the next appointment. David S. Atlas GG(GIA), ASG, Sr. Mbr.
